Apparatus for consolidating roadway pavings or the like
German Patent DE3248172
The invention relates to an apparatus for consolidating, in particular, roadway pavings or the like, having a compacting beam which is movable over the roadway paving in the working direction and a device for producing from at least parts of the compacting beam compacting impacts which are directed mainly perpendicularly to the roadway paving. According to the invention, the apparatus is distinguished in that the underside of the compacting beam which lies on the roadway paving consists of mutually separated plate sections, and in that the plate sections are coupled to a drive mechanism which produces compacting impacts in such a way that mutually adjacent plate sections move in each case in opposite directions to one another. Each plate section is preferably a flat strip which runs in the longitudinal direction of the compacting beam and whose width is greater than the area of action of known tamping strips of tamper planks, but less than the bearing area of known vibratory planks. The measure according to the invention has the advantage that, in particular in the case of post-compaction, the disadvantages of the pre-compacting tamper planks or vibratory planks can be compensated for, since the apparatus according to the invention works both at high surface pressure like a tamper plank and also, at the same time, ensures deep action of the compaction, as is only achieved with vibratory planks.
