Performance&Basketball Shoes of&2015 So Far&This year there is some competition when it comes to basketball
performance footwear, and I’m happy there is. Consumers have more options, an
array of prices, and most importantly, solid performance models to choose from.As always, this list can – and likely will – change by the end of
2015. This is only to showcase what I feel are the top performance models so
far. Once the Fall/ Winter lineup of kicks release we’ll have a better view of
what shoes will make it into the top ten for the entire year. &Any of the
models listed are great on-court options so long as the shoe fits your specific
wants and needs. I’ll list my thoughts on each pair along with their
performance scores (you can click on the score card to head to their

Li-Ning had a major hiccup with the Way of Wade
3, but luckily they came out with some solid team models that play far better
than this year’s signature line. Prices are also considerably lower as well so
if you were looking for something different to play in without breaking the
bank then you may want to consider the Wade 808 Mid or Low. Which one of the
two is better? They’re the same shoe. Do you want a strap or not is the real
question…and only you can answer that. I will say that the cushion feels
slightly more plush on the low top version, but not enough to where you’d see a
significant difference between the two models. I love playing indoors because I
feel you usually get the most out of these newer shoes on the hardwood
(traction and durability) but with the Wade 808’s you can play indoors or outdoors and still get
the most out of your purchase. Some of the bigger brands put out great
products, but they are mainly intended for indoor hoopers. Li-Ning products are
made for either. You get that 90’s

I have a love/ hate relationship with the Way of Wade 3. I love
how it looks. I love its materials. I love it’s traction. But I hate how they
felt while playing in them. Cushion was a huge weak point as was the cumbersome
shank plate. W I’ve never seen – or felt – such a drastic
change between an original vs. the ‘takedown’ as I have with the Wade 3 Lite.Traction is still great, and much like the 808, you can hoop in
these indoors or outdoors without any issue. Materials are technically not a
nice as the premium stuff we saw with the regular Wade 3, but the Lite feels,
fits, and flexes better with your foot. I’d still recommend going up 1/2 size
on them for the perfect fit, but that’s entirely up to you. Cushion density was
altered for the better and the shank was altered as well. You’ll visually see
the altered shank because it’s no longer Carbon Fiber, but what you don’t see
is that these don’t
like the original
did which allows the shoe to move and flex with your foot much more naturally
than the original pair. These, much like the 808, are also a cheaper option in
terms of price…and I ain’t mad about that. Saving money while gaining value is
never a bad thing. If you want that dope premium vibe to your kicks when
rocking them off-court then the WoW 3 is the way to go…just use the WoW 3 Lite

This is still one of my surprise favorites of the
year. They would have been ranked a few spots higher had it not been for the
lack of durability with their traction. While I’ve been able to wear-test many
of the shoes featured on this list both indoor and outdoor, the CrazyLight
Boost 2015 was one where I never even made it outside and the outsole started
wearing down. Their PrimeKnit upper surpasses Nike’s FlyKnit – we’re talking
the hoop version only here – and the cushion was awesome once I swapped the
insole. Maybe the last CrazyLight Boost was such a huge disappointment that
anything would have felt like an upgrade but these at least are a giant leap in
the right direction. Hopefully they keep it up, because these were a ton of fun
to play in. Just make sure you grab two pairs of them once they hit sales

I was unimpressed
with the cushion, but the traction and materials are top notch. Some minor
issues come about if someone steps on the exaggerated heel, but other than that
there isn’t much to complain about. They pretty much have everything that most
players would want. Full length cushion, great traction, great materials that
require minimal break-in, and lockdown fit. Only thing we can complain about is

They weren’t as smooth as the original, but the
traction and fit were beast. There is nothing better than wearing a shoe that
completely secures your foot and also makes you feel as if you’re wearing
nothing at all. Cushion was a bit lackluster, but was still better than the
Hyperdunk 2015…so I suppose that’s saying something. If you’re a guard you may

list?! Damn right it did. If you haven’t had the chance to hoop in a pair of
fresh&&XX’s then I suggest you do. The Retro
price was an
$225, but if you happen to
find them lying around on discount somewhere grab them. The IPS system is still
relevant today and it’s comfortable as f***. How comfortable is a f*** exactly?
I’ve always wondered. Anyhow…grab a pair of XX’s. Take them to the nearest gym.

Curry came up big time in 2015. Everything from regular season MVP
to NBA Champion. But most importantly – for the sneakerheads – his first
signature sneaker was released. Retail on the kicks started off pretty slow –
even here in the Bay Area. But soon as the
reached the Playoffs and hit game winners with multiple Pelicans in his face
people hopped up on them pretty quickly after that. A you’ll
get some great traction, and semi- cushion feels better the
more you wear them so be patient if you can. I enjoyed the fit immensely after
they broke in and the low tops are just perfect. You’ll be good to go with
either pair on-court so whether you prefer mids/ highs or lows Under Armour’s
got you covered with the Curry One.Oh yeah…they retail for $110-$120 too. Congratulations, you’ve stuck around and made it
to our top 3. This is where sh*t gets tricky as you can literally interchange
the top 3 pairs with one another and I’d be happy with the outcome. For #3 I’ve
decided to run with the&&Zoom Soldier IX. This is another indoor/
outdoor shoe and one that comes in at a reasonable price. Its one of the few
Zoom based&&where you can actually feel the cushion
and the lockdown was incredible. IN-CRE-DI-BLE. Everyone can get down in the
Solider IX too. PG’s all the way to nimble centers should get something out of

The BrandBlack J Crossover 1 wound up at the #6
spot in the Top 10 Performance Shoes of 2014, and so far they’re leading the
way to be in the top 3. I personally would have picked these to be in my #1 spot,
but I do feel that there is a performer that is a little more well-rounded for
all players – some people really dislike woven uppers for some reason. However,
the J Crossover II has some of the best foam cushion that isn’t named&&or Boost, and the upper – for me at least
– was like sex for your feet. Yeah, I said sex for your feet. Get over it. This
is the one shoe that is always in my gym bag. Always. If you can find a pair in
your size, I suggest you try out a pair. no time to wear-test and review for 2014’s list, and I’m okay with that. They would have
likely have been knocked down a notch or two since the XX9 occupied space on
the same list so being all on their own, they’ve proven that they’re a solid
performer. Traction is beast. Cushion is beast. Materials are more supportive
than the performance woven XX9, so if you are one of those players that
dislikes the woven stuff…these are for you. Not only are these beastly
on-court, but nobody buys the damn things so you’ll be able to grab a pair for
dirt cheap pretty soon.&
