雅思考试时，着装非常的重要，尽量做到得体，大方，毕竟爱美之心人皆有之。但是切忌女生不要化太重的浓妆，也不要去喷太浓的香水。我曾经看见过有的女生穿的过于隆重，礼服，首饰，应有尽有。但是考官告诉我说，他对该女生的印象是她像一棵行走的圣诞树。总之，穿着不能太随意，也不能太夸张。
再次，当我们初次见到考官时不要忘记打招呼，打招呼最好是越简单越自然最好。例如：”GOOD MORNING. ”“GOOD AFTERNOON.” 或者是”HELLOI&, &HI&.等等，什么一些客套的空话尽量省略。?
有些考生会疑惑是否该和考官握手，我认为只是根据具体情况而定，握手的三个原则我们可以做参考。1.位高者先伸手。2 女士先伸手。3 长者先伸手。

& & 苏梅克-列维九号彗星（Shoemaker-Levy9,&&SL9,&&D/1993F2）是一颗于1994 年与木星撞击的彗星，也是人们能首次直接观测太阳系的天体撞击事件。它引起了全球不少主流媒体的关注，也吸引了全世界的天文学家观测。透过这次事件，人们能知道更多木星及其大气的资料，以及木星扮演著内太阳系的“清道夫”角色，以强大的引力来清理“太空垃圾”。这颗彗星是由美国天文学家尤金和卡罗琳?舒梅克夫妇（Eugene and Carolyn Shoemaker）及天文爱好者大卫?利维（David H.Levy ）三人于日在美国加州帕洛玛天文台共同发现的，那是他们发现的第九个彗星，因此依据国际星体命名规则依照三位的姓氏命名。原本此彗星脱离位于太阳系外侧的小行星带进入太阳系成为周期性彗星，根据电脑推算运行轨道的结果显示出在 1992 年7 月8日距木星表面4 万公里时因受到强大的引力而分裂为21 个小碎块。

第一段说ambergris这个东西很久以前有了，然后说 ambergris的用途有for medicine，spice，用来制作 perfume什么的等等（有题，matching ） 然后说但是人们不知道它是从哪里来的。再就是说在古代it worth in weight in gold，当然是贵了。第二段说 以前人们一直把ambergris 和 amber&&当作一种东西。但是有个叫 Dick什么的写了一本书讲了这两个东西的区别什么的（有题，matching ）说 ambergris&&通常发现在海面或者 shore，但是仍然不知道是从哪里来的。 Amber 哪是一种什么的，与松树pine 有关，然后说了amber 的一些特性hard，transparent，等等，用来做装饰品头上啊什么地方，&&同样&&very costly 。（有题，matching ）第三段说ambergris 是与sperm whale 的intestine 肠子里的消化digest某种东西有关。以为intestine 会有题，结果没有，提到了马可波罗，好像与这个发现有关（没题，当笑话好了）第四段就是具体describe ambergris 的产生过程了。（summary&&题）大意是，sperm whale 吃一种东西 叫&&beaks of squalid，肠子就消化，但是不能完全消化，就转化成了另一种东西，应该是体内的垃圾。这种垃圾是 soft 的，会被sperm& &whale呕吐出来&&be vomited up。然后这种东西遇到空气就会变硬hardens， 于是就形成了ambergris 了，也解释了为什么ambergris 总在海面和shore 被发现。第五段 说人们为了获得ambergris 而捕杀 sperm whale导致了濒临灭绝。给了一个数据说in 20th century，90% ambergris was made in the processing of killing sperm whale。（有题， TFNG ）ambergris was still the most expensive product in the whole body of sperm whale，大意是这样的。于是人们就开始采取措施保护sperm whale ，在工业生产中采用了很多 ambergris的替代品，例如香水制造业中就用了某种东西，代替了 ambergris。第六段说sperm whale 的数量会有recover 的那么一天，没题。

& && &当今社会很多人认为有很多选择会是一件很幸福的事情，但是通过科学研究表明，在心理上，越来越多的选择会让人越来越不开心。一个德国人做了一个实验，研究人们的心理，把实验人群分成了两个类型，第一种人叫Maximiser（大概是）挑什么总是要挑最好的，而第二种人叫Satisfier（大概是）则是根据自己的要求挑选，只要是自己满意的就好，无论有没有更好的供他选择。还说人们失去东西的痛苦要比得到东西的快乐强烈得多，而且往往会后悔做出了当初的选择。后来又有一个在剧院做的经典实验，说的是花全价买票的人比以打折价买到票的人更投入到节目中，原因是如果他们不用心看就对不住这个票钱。最后作者觉得人们为了让自己高兴些应该学会尽量减少自己做出选择所用的时间，比如逛街买东西的时候就逛两家店，免得自己比来比去弄得不高兴。

& &&&首先说的是某公司一天早晨的头脑训练课程的情况。有个年轻的讲师给员工上课，让他们想象自己正在fill each room and fill the building, from the low key to the top，反正讲让他们想象的一些东西。后面说有个叫做gym of brain，专门开设这种类型的课程，他们大概有70 种不同的课程。但是使用同样的销售理念，如follow my way之类的。这段介绍似乎是这个的一个创设人，叫Susan Greenfield的。后面就引用了一段著名心理学家XXX的话，她说“人的大脑就像身体一样，通过锻炼就能更加发达”。再后面就是那个年轻讲师介绍他上课的一些感受。他说有些人自己给自己贴上缺乏创造力的标签，其实他们都没有意识到自己实际上是缺乏一些创造性的技巧。这些技巧通过他们的课程和一些锻炼就可以获得。创造力这个东西其实挺主观的，因此很难衡量。某个学者说大多数人都是没有得到恰当的训练，才导致创造力低下，还说什么神经元的问题，关键是要建立神经元之间的一些联系等等。举例子说，有些人经过意外的事故，损失了神经元之间原有的一些联系，但是通过一些康复治疗等等，他们会获得神经元之间的新的联系的，还提到IQ test。再后面讲两个俄罗斯的学者的观点。最后说有学者认为，学校应该花更多的精力培养学生的创造力，而不是用一些事实性的知识填充学生的大脑。

&&关于一种crow鸟制作和使用工具。讲一种鸟类，叫科罗拉多乌鸦，它们很厉害，会自己制造工具。前面两段是讲那种科罗拉多乌鸦的一些概况，接下来一部分很重要，涉及后面的题。本部分分两段，介绍了小乌鸦们自己做的三种很有智慧的工具。第一段讲的是前两种工具，一个是hook，前面是个怪异的词。第二种是个stick，是乌鸦把某种树枝上面对生的叶片(paired leaves)去掉，剩下一个棍棍，还有头上的一个像玫瑰那种的刺(rose-like thorn)，做成的一个工具。第二段说第三种工具。好像是个叶子做的？一边有锯齿还是什么的，另一边是乌鸦撕扯成的锯齿状，有3-4个阶梯的那种。然后说科学家重点研究了这种工具，因为他们发现乌鸦制作的这种工具都是同一型号和造型的。难道，它们在制作工具之前在头脑里面就已经设想好这种工具了？或者有设计好的蓝图还是什么？科学家不能抓到正在制作工具的活的乌鸦，他们的依据是在树林里发现的大量那种树叶的碎片。它们都是以同样的方式被撕扯的。后面提到另一种鸟类，它们生活在某岛屿上，好像它们也制作工具，并且这种技能可以依靠基因进行遗传。科学家们已经证实了这一点，但是并不能确定科罗拉多乌鸦就是这种情况。但是，可以确定科罗拉多乌鸦的技能传承肯定不是通过XXX（忘了）完成的。下面一段开始说人类的祖先和科罗拉多乌鸦有些相似之处。主要说的是二者的脑子都很厉害，怎么就这么厉害呢？因为它们的大脑都是分区域使用的，某个特定的区域就控制特定的行为。这就是为什么大多数人类都是右撇子的原因所在。通过分析科罗拉多乌鸦制作工具的痕迹，科学家发现它们倾向于是用右侧的翅膀。后面一段说人类和科罗拉多乌鸦的其他相似之处。比如都是社会型的动物，都有广泛的食谱等等。

太阳系九大行星中离开太阳最远、最小的一颗行星，1930年被发现。因为它离太阳最远，因此也非常寒冷，这和罗马神话中的冥王普鲁托所住的地方很相似，因此称为“Pluto”。相当于希腊神话中的冥王哈得斯(Hades)：哈得斯是宙斯的哥哥，在战胜父亲克洛斯后，负责掌管下界冥土，成为冥王。他的罗马名字是普路同(Pluto)，九大行星中最小最外的冥王星。他是地狱和死人的统治者，审判死人给予惩罚。他的妻子是珀耳塞福涅(Persephone)，在巡视大地时抢回来的妻子。哈得斯同时是掌管财富的神祇，掌管地下埋藏的黄金宝石。Pluto是米老鼠的宠物狗，但是它不仅仅是一个迪士尼的角色。Pluto是在罗马神话中是“地底世界之神”，有趣的是，这个神可以使自己隐身。事实上冥王星也是隐藏了许多年，直到上个世纪才被发现，我还记得天文学家根据行星围绕太阳运行的轨道，认为一定存在一颗这样的行星，但却总是找不到这颗行星，最后总算是找到了冥王星，这是一个很伟大的发现。我认为它很可爱。科学家们仍然在发现新的彗星，恒星，所以研究天文学还是很有趣的。遗憾的是国际天文学联合会大会8月24日上午公布了行星定义决议：冥王星失去行星地位 被列为“矮行星”。
