Hi gurues, I'm facing this issue with an IDES on MaxDB with Windows.System was up and running until someone tries to make an upgrade of the kernel. SAPR3 may be available but apparently it's the wrong user.&Are you sure you just exchanged the kernel binaries? Seems to me like other things were changed too.&I'd now use DBStudio and check whether SAPR3 is the proper user and whether table SVERS is available for that user.&&&Markus

Hello,&1. Did you downgrade the SAP kernel? Or database kernel?&& &&& I recommend to create the SAP message and get SAP support.&2. Before to change the XUSER entry run the checks on the database server:&&& &Use sdbverify as root user to check the installation of t&&& &Check what is the name of the database & if it's registered.&&& &Check if your database is restartable.&&&&&&& Check the database users - "select * from users", and if you know the database user's passwords to connect to the &&&&&&& database.&&& &What is the schema user in your database, the owner of the application data ?&3. Natalia, this system was not resored nor copied, it was up and running before kernel update. Is your database SID?&&& Why it was SED with schema user - SAPSED at the beginning of the thread?&&&& Why did you change the XUser entry for the default key to SAPR3, if the SAPSID user is the schema user?&2. Please check first, what is the database name and schema user, which is the owner of the application data.&&& Check that you know the passwords of the all database users & able to connect to the database using those users/passwords.&& &&&& Then change the XUSER entries - SAP note 39439.&&&& Login as &SID&adm user and check if you connect to the database with default key:&&&&& dbmcli -d SID& -U c -USQL DEFAULT& sql_execute "select * from users"&&& &&&&&& &enter&&Regards, Natalia Khlopina

Hi Natalia,&I have created Development server from Offline backup of Prd server with backup restore method.&i have changed the SID & restored the backup successfully, then i proceed as per the step mentioned in the note 129352 & 39439.&however after successful restoration R3trans working fine but i am not able to start SAP instance dispatcher stopped after && process get ended with err1.&source System informationSID: PSTOs: win 2003database: max db 5.0Backup type: Offline full backup&Target system SID: DSTOs: win 2003database: max db 5.0Backup type: Offline full backup&may i know why this is happening.&RegardsAmol
