'The only argument you need for gun rights?' I've heard far more sensible arguments than this yet this one constantly gets brought up and to be frank it sounds fanciful. Gun activists seem to romanticise the idea of all banding together to fight in the uprising, yes 200 years ago that might have worked when you would have had a musket and the average soldier had a musket and minimal training but today against a modern military force I can't see the general public standing a chance.

I come over from Scotland now and again and a bar crawl that a KC friend took me on that included Johnnie's, and The Peanut (amongst others I mentioned in another comment) ranks as one of the best nights out I've had to date.
When I was over visiting last winter my friend finished work and we embarked on a bit of a bar crawl. Started at Johnnie's sports bar in Kansas City, Kansas, absolutely loved that place, my friend knew the guy behind the bar which made it even better, played some shuffleboard. After that boosted over to The Ship, listened to some live music. Then headed to Caddyshack, didn't stay very long, so we went to The Peanut, before finishing on the plaza at Granfaloon (slightly more civilised). So I feel like I've seen more of KCs dive bars than most Scots.
Wish I was over for this. I'm from Edinburgh but have spent loads of time in KC. I was thinking I'll need to make an effort to come across for St Patricks next year, I was there for Thanksgiving two years ago and would be nice to see some other festivities. Nice to see these photos though, especially good to see the pipe band as I have a friend who has a large involvement in that.
Hardly for 'poor housewives' I live in one of the most expensive towns in Scotland and I see more Discoverys than anything else.

I was an extra in a film once and in one scene we had a rampant bull that was getting herded into an enclosure and we were all meant to clap when they finally locked the gate to the enclosure after they struggled to get it in. Problem being, when a whole crowd of people clapped the bull got spooked, so to counter this problem they just had us pretend to clap and then dubbed in an applause sound later. It looked pretty stupid having all these people waving their hands about in silence. I imagine that's probably similar to what happened here, they made him pretend to sweep silently as to not spook Daniel Craig, they wouldn't want him running off and having to send someone to wrangle him again, very inefficient.

The layout of the plaza is similar to Princes, George and Queen Street in the new town, a shopping area in Edinburgh.
Lots of very nice housing areas centred round golf courses similar to places like Ravelstone Dykes.
A former industrial area making a comeback as a venue for bars and restaurants, like Leith.
Mainstreet is even similar in some ways to Leith walk taking you from the plaza area (like the new town) to river market (like leith).
Also lots of nice architecture.
