Agree or disagree : the extended family is less important nowthan it was in the past

In the past a lot of people thought the extended family was important. However, nowadays more and more people contend that it becomes less important than it was. This new idea is also my point ofview. The reasons are as follows.First, as the cities develop, today more people leave their hometown and move to the cities to find a better job. The circumstance is really different from before. For example, in the past times people mainly worked on farming and they always worked in their hometown. Hence, all the family members lived together because of the convenience for them to take care of each other. However, today it ismore convenient for the extended-family members who work in different cities to have their own small core families. The neighborhoods can also help each other well.Second, the relationship between relatives can become better if they have the core families. It is mainly because living too close is easy to have friction. That is, in an extended family there usually are a lot offriction, argument and contradiction and those often make all the members unhappy. Therefore, it is a good choice for people to live in core families to have abetter living quality [life quality], and then all members could get together to have fun in a festival. For example, I only live with my mother and father and every weekend we will go to my grandparents' house to accompany them. Also in [on] every festival all the relatives will come back to my grandparents' house to get together to have fun. We all have the happy live.To sum up, I support the statement that the extended family is less important now because a small core family[是不是可以这样写] is a much better choice now.
