Hard Disk Drive not found in ASUS UEFI BIOS Utility - EZ Mode
My sister just bought a new desktop. It was working fine and all. But this morning, she forced shut down a windows update. The next thing happen once it gets past through BIOS is
&Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key&
So I told her to look at the BIOS setting and it only recognise the Optical Disc Drive of
&SATA SM: TSSTcorp CDDVD SH-2&
as shown in the picture below
Is there anything I can do? I tried opening the desktop case and see everything is loose, but everything was still in tact.
Any suggestion would be much appreciated.

Try reinstalling the , changing cables.
If it can't be recognized then boot the maker's diagnostics DOS CD scan to test it - Seatools if there isn't one -
or Partition Wizard bootable CD surface scan.
If these won't see it you can slave it to another PC to try Disk Check or see if it will see it.
If not then I'd replace it.
Do a Clean Reinstall on the replacement drive from tutorial in my signature below if you want it perfect.

I'm attemping to install Windows 7 64 bits in a Sony vaio SVE14A25CLB laptop. Many threads in this forum already help me a lot to change the UEFI settings to boot from a DVD or USB device in UEFI mode and I clean the hard drive with diskpart. Also secure boot is disabled.

FWIW sorry I went with this ASUS board but from reading ASUS now makes about 80 percent of all boards.

刚才在玩游戏 突然强制重启然后就进入EZ模式 恢复默认还是一样 怎么办？

UEFI BIOS怎么安装WIN7？一些原厂自带WINDOWS8的电脑，主板有的是UEFI主板，那么，UEFI主板该怎么安装WIN7系统呢？这里面有个重要的内容就是BISO模式的切换。
下面是UEFI BIOS和Legacy BIOS设置切换的要点：
首先是电脑启动进入BIOS设置界面。注：不同电脑进入BIOS的快捷键不同可以本站文章小结。
UEFI BIOS和Legacy BIOS设置切换要注意如下四点的设置，在如下四点中，UEFI BIOS和Legacy BIOS的设置是完全不同的，在不同的运用中，将有不同的设置，下面就来看下UEFI BIOS和Legacy BIOS之间切换的设置要点：
1、OS Optimized Defaults系统默认优化设置，
切换到&EXIT&选项。如下图
切换到UEFI时：如果只安装Win8/8.1可以选择&开启（Enable）&，其他情况&关闭（Disable）&，切换到Legacy时：选择&关闭（Disable）&。
2、CSM兼容模块设置
切换到&启动（Startup）&选项卡。如下图
CSM（Compatibility support Module）表示兼容模块，该选项专为兼容只能在legacy模式下工作的设备以及不支持或不能完全支持UEFI的操作系统而设置。要注意的是，在配置了Class 2 类型UEFI的电脑上CSM选项与安全启动会发生冲突，二者只能同时开启其中的一个。具体设置如下：
切换到UEFI时：建议只在安装Win8/8.1并且需要开启安全启动的条件下选择&关闭（Disable）&，其他情况选择&开启（Enable）&；切换到Legacy时：选择&开启（Enable）&。
3、Boot Mode启动方式选择
该选项仍在&启动（Startup）&选项卡中，即Boot Mode（启动方式），这就是切换UEFI/Legacy BIOS的主要设置选项。一般有三个选项：
Auto（自动）：自动按照启动设备列表中的顺序启动，优先采用UEFI方式；
UEFI only（仅UEFI）：只选择具备UEFI启动条件的设备启动；
Legacy only（仅Legacy）：只选择具备Legacy启动条件的设备启动；
根据需要选择即可。
4、Secure Boot安全启动设置
安全启动设置。预装Win8/8.1电脑出厂时安全启动默认为&开启（Enable）&状态，这导致在默认状态下无法引导包括在内的其他操作系统，用户可以选择将其关闭。
切换到Security 选项卡，如下图
这里面有两个选项：
第一个，安全启动（Secure boot）选项。要在UEFI模式下安装Win8/8.1之外的系统必须选择关闭。通常将其设置为&关闭（Disable）&会更好。
第二个，重置为设定模式/恢复出厂设置（Reset to Setup Mode/Restore Factory Keys）选项。这个选项用于清除或恢复内置的安全启动密钥。

方法一：UEFI &&BIOS设置方法---将U盘插到主板USB接口上，接通电脑电源，出现华硕LOGO时，开机后按Del，进入UEFI &&BIOS界面，点击底部“启动菜单”，在出现的启动菜单选项中，鼠标点击选择已经插好的U盘后，按F10保存设置就可以了
方法二：快速启动设置方法---接通电脑电源，出现华硕LOGO时，狂按ESC键，进入快速启动设置，使用方向键，让USB &&HDD处于选中状态后，按(Enter)回车键，就可以U盘启动了。
方法三：进入WIN8系统后，重启电脑，连续按DEL键，一般可以正常进入BIOS的。如果不能进入，可以在WIN8系统下，鼠标移动至屏幕右下角，选择设置--更多设置--常规--高级启动--立即重启，重启后会进入高级启动界面，然后找到对应选项，也可以进入BIOS。

在【Boot】里将【Fast &&Boot】设为 &&[Enabled]，将【USB &&Support】设为[Partial &&Initialization]也就是只有连接了键盘和鼠标的 &&USB &&连接端口可被检测到。若设为[Disabled]，在操作系统启动前所有 &&USB &&设备都不可用。可得到最快的启动自我测试（POST）时间。
　　再将【PS/2 &&Keyboard &&and &&Mouse &&Support】设为[Auto]或[Full &&Initialization]。若设为[Disabled]，虽然能缩短 && &&POST && &&时间，但是所有的 && &&PS/2 &&设备将在系统进入操作系统后才可用。

首先设置BIOS，EFI &&Shell，然后重装UEFI的操作系统（建议Windows &&8/8.1原版，优先光盘安装） &&关于BIOS设置：在退出（Exit）菜单最后一项Launch &&EFI &&Shell &&from &&filesystem &&device
这东东是给WIn8 &&+SSD固态硬盘用的，你装了WIN8后，打开控制面板，找到“电源”选项并进入选项页，选择“更改电源按钮的功能”，在这个界面中有一项是“启用快速启动（推荐），选择这个，开机速度就快了。
