STEP1Install CodeWarrior ?for MicrocontrollersCodeWarrior is a powerful tool designedto help you minimize your time to market.CodeWarrior installation is a one-timerequired step before connecting the boardto your computer.1. Insert provided DVD into computer and a menuwill appear using your default browser.2. Click on the icon to download CodeWarriorinstaller. This will prompt you to save file CW_MCUs_V6_1.exe to your computer.3. Once the download is completed, double-click theexecutable file to run installation.4. Follow the on-screen instructions until installationis complete. Once installation is complete, takeadvantage of several CodeWarrior tutorials thatwill walk you through various development toolfeatures, such as “C Programming,” “AssemblyProgramming,” “Using Processor Expert,”and more. Simply open CodeWarrior via the“Programs&Freescale CodeWarrior&CW forMicrocontroller V6.1&CodeWarrior IDE.exe” path.Click “Run Getting Started Tutorial” from thestartup dialog, select a tutorial and follow the on-screen instructions.5. Click on the icon to download the MC9S08AC128CW6.1 Service Pack installer. This will prompt youto save file CW08_V6_1_HCS08_AC128_SP.exeto your computer.6. Once the download is completed, double-click theexecutable file to run installation. Follow the on-screen instructions until installation is complete.7. Click on the icon to download the MCF51AC256CW6.1 Service Pack installer. This will prompt youto save file CW08_V6_1_CFV1_AC256_SP.exe toyour computer.8. Once the download is completed, double-click theexecutable file to run installation. Follow the on-screen instructions until installation is complete.9. Click on the icon to download the ProcessorExpert Update installer. This will prompt you tosave file CW08_V6_1_PE_V3_03_SP.exe to yourcomputer.10. Once the download is completed, double-clickthe executable file to run installation. Followthe on-screen instructions until installation iscomplete.STEP2Install PEMicro DemoBoard ToolkitThe PEMicro Demo Board Toolkit installis a one-time required step. The DemoBoard Toolkit includes graphical utilitiesthat run on your computer and help speedup your development. These utilities takedevelopment beyond the hardware andinteract with the target microcontroller overthe same USB multilink reference design onthe board that allows you to debug usingCodeWarrior. Best of all, you can debugyour microcontroller in CodeWarrior whilesimultaneously using one of the followingutilities: Logic Analyzer, Serial Grapher,Terminal Window and AccelerometerDemo Grapher.1. Insert provided DVD into computer and a menuwill appear using your default browser.2. Click on “DEMOAC” then click on “Other DEMOACResources” in the navigation panel on left-side ofthe DVD menu. This will launch the P&E DEMOACResources menu.
