Haleh Kashani, Ph.D.150 Nellen Ave., Suite 100Corte Madera, CA, 94925415-898-9839Dr. Kashani is a licensed clinical psychologist and the Executive Director of Eating Disorder Recovery Services. She has been in practice since 1990, treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions with adults, adolescents and families, with a special focus on eating disorders. Dr. Kashani completed two training workshops with Drs. James Lock and Daniel Le Grange in 2000 and 2005 and has been successfully utilizing the principals of Family Based Therapy as part of a multidisiplinary adolescent out-patient eating disorder program which she has established and directed since 2000, as well as in her own private practice in San Rafael.
"My work with adolescents with eating disorders and their families is informed by the principals of the Family Based Therapy. I work very closely as part of a multidisciplincary team to assure teens medical stability and need for higher level of care, as needed. I assess carefully for any co-existing conditions and treat and/or refer accordingly. In my own practice, I have found that since utilizing the principals of& FBT, on average the course of treatment has shortened, the need for hospitalization has reduced and rate of recovery has increased."

Dr. Kelton-Locke has been a practicing psychologist in the field of eating disorders for 25 years. Her training in the Maudsley method began in 2001 and includes workshops at Stanford and the University of California-San Diego.&"Since reading about Maudsley and learning to implement it in practice, I have worked to help families prevent hospitalization or provide continuity of care if the child has previously been admitted. My primary philosophy is to utilize the Maudsley method to empower the parents to rescue their child from the medical perils of this illness. Once the child is stabilized and able to think more clearly, the goal of treatment is to help restore the developmental trajectory."
Dana S. Iyer, Ph.D.23276 South Pointe DriveSuite 108Laguna Hills, CA 92653Ph: 949.701.5544Email: "Eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa are serious, life threatening illnesses. Traditionally, practitioners working in this area have applied the same principles of recovery to both their adult and adolescent patients. As a result, eating disorder treatment for adolescents has neglected the important role of parents in recovery. Working in the area of eating disorders for over 10 years and having received training by Drs. James Lock and Kara Fitzpatrick at Stanford, has led me to recognize that the family is an essential and necessary component in helping the adolescent recover. In working with adolescents, I use family based therapy (FBT) to empower parents in the task of regulating their child&s eating to disable the eating disorder. Research supports that FBT demonstrates good outcome and appears to be as effective as inpatient hospitalization without the relapse that accompanies discharge from inpatient settings. If your child has been in individual treatment that has not been effective, now might be good time to try a different approach that includes you in the process."
Bay Area Eating Disorder AssociatesJill Rodgers-Quaye, Ph.D. 4281 Piedmont Ave. Oakland, CA 94611 (510) 282-2197
Attended two training workshops with James Lock and one with Daniel le Grange. Worked on a multidisciplinary team for seven years using FBT with most teens and their families.
"With teens, I find 'Maudsley' style Family Based Treatment very effective in quickly reducing dangerous symptoms and uniting the family against the eating disorder. As treatment progresses, I integrate cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, and a feminist/cultural awareness approach to strengthen coping skills and prevent relapse."

Sarah Ravin, PhD1550 Madruga Ave Suite #414Coral Gables, FL 33146305-668-5755 I have a special interest in adolescent eating disorders. My philosophy regarding eating disorders is based on the most recent scientific research suggesting that anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa are biologically-based mental illnesses which are triggered by dieting and perpetuated by malnutrition, with emotional stress as an aggravating factor. For adolescents with eating disorders, I use the Maudsley Model of Family-Based Treatment, a highly practical, empirically-supported treatment which enlists the entire family as a resource in supporting the patient&s recovery.

Kreipe, MD, FAAP, FAEDWith over 40 years experience treating children and adolescents with eating disorders in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Rochester Medical Center, our interdisciplinary treatment team&s therapeutic partnerships with patients and families are all based on the assumption that parents always try to do the best that they can. However, the intrusion of an eating disorder into a family often causes parents to feel helpless and hopeless that only empowers the eating disorder to cause disconnections in relationships. We offer family-based inpatient and outpatient treatment that embodies the Maudsley&s &agnostic&, non-blaming, strength-based approach. This empowers parents to help their daughter or son become more healthy and empowers the patient to take back control of her/his life. From our Rochester-based core center of the Western New York Comprehensive Care Center for Eating Disorders, we facilitate monthly support group meetings that are video-linked to Watertown, Ithaca and Binghamton. We provide community outreach, education, training and prevention services, in addition to conducting community-based prevention research.
