今天刚用虚拟机装了ubuntu15.04，我安装了2次vmware tools，重启还还是没有安装成功，之前装14.10安装一次那个就成功了，这是为神马

解决用典型安装就行了
我也没成功，成功了告诉我一声
1. 更新或安装linux headerssudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install build-essential linux-headers-$(uname -r) 2. 关联文件，就是因为找不到这个几个文件，vmware tools才认为路径无效的。cd /lib/modules/$(uname -r)/build/include/linuxsudo ln -s ../generated/utsrelease.hsudo ln -s ../generated/autoconf.hsudo ln -s ../generated/uapi/linux/version.h3. 再次执行安装就ok啦，运行vmware-config-tools.pl 也没问题了sudo ./vmware-install.pl不过，我装完vmwaretools，剪切板还是不共用，但是可以共用文件夹了

在VMware Workstation 12.0中下为Ubuntu 14.04.4安装VMware Tools的时候，shell提示：

既然官方都貌似放弃了默认的VMware tools而推荐open-vm-tools，于是想折腾一下open-vm-tools。根据官方指定的说明页面和，完成了安装，以下我整理的安装过程和注意事项。
因为要将VMware提供的源添加到apt-get中，所以首先要下载VMware的秘钥。
cd ~/Downloads
wget http://packages.vmware.com/tools/keys/VMWARE-PACKAGING-GPG-DSA-KEY.pub
wget http://packages.vmware.com/tools/keys/VMWARE-PACKAGING-GPG-RSA-KEY.pub
apt-key命令用于管理Debian系统中的软件包密钥。每个发布的deb包，都是通过密钥认证的，apt-key用来管理密钥。 在秘钥所在路径，运行apt-key，安装秘钥。
sudo apt-key add VMWARE-PACKAGING-GPG-DSA-KEY.pub
sudo apt-key add VMWARE-PACKAGING-GPG-RSA-KEY.pub
添加deb发布包源
将open-vm-tools的deb包的源添加到系统中，待apt-get使用。
首先新建文件：
sudo touch /etc/apt/sources.list.d/open-vm-tools.list
然后添加源地址：
sudo vi /etc/apt/sources.list.d/open-vm-tools.list
deb http://packages.vmware.com/packages/ubuntu trusty main
注意：我当时是在Windows下看的教程，无法直接将命令直接复制到ubuntu中，所以都是手打，出现了一次错误。一个笨的办法就是，将地址输入进去以后，将其复制到Firefox中，试试看能否打开。
安装open-vm-tools
open-vm-tools不只是一个安装包，它包括了open-vm-tools，open-vm-tools-desktop，open-vm-toolbox，open-vm-dkms。逐一安装。
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install open-vm-tools open-vm-tools-desktop open-vm-toolbox open-vm-dkms
安装好open-vm-tools以后，log out一次，就可以使用了。在Windows和虚拟机中自由复制粘贴文本和文件，非常方便。但是目前我还没感觉出它比VMware好在哪里。
为了安装，下载了key，还新建了文件。考虑到open-vm-tools应该不会重复安装，所以将这些都删除卸载，以保持系统干净。

vmware tools可以说是其平台虚拟机必不可少的工具，可以使母机（你的电脑）通过复制粘贴向虚拟机中传递文件信息，对我们虚拟机的使用由非常大的帮助，当然也可以通过使用共享硬盘来共享文件，但操作起来复杂又不方便。
如果是安装windows系列的虚拟机，安装的过程中vmware tools直接就装好，不用单独配置，而linux系列的虚拟机不能直接安装vmware tools，需要装好系统后手动安装。
下面我们就一起来为ubuntu安装一下vmware tools：
安装ubuntu
在vmware导航栏找到：虚拟机——安装vmware tools，点击
虚拟机会发现多了一个CD镜像——VMware Tools，打开后将VMwareTools-10.0.5-3228253.tar.gz解压到一个本地，解压后效果：
打开shell，通过cd打开vmware-tools-distrib（上一步解压文件名），执行
./vmware-install.pl
一路下一步
这样就安装成功了，接下来就可以通过剪切板共享文件，文字信息了。

　在VMware下安装Ubuntu，那么必须安装VMware-tools，才能获得更好的体验，包括屏幕分辨率、声音、和windows共享剪贴板等等。
　　1、点击VMware菜单的-VM-Install VMware Tools
　　这时，在Ubuntu下会自动加载Linux版的VMware Tools的安装光盘镜像。你会看到虚拟机的桌面上出现了一个名为VMware Tools的光盘图标，并且被自动打开。
　　其中包括VMwareTools-xxx-i386.rpm和VMwareTools- xxx.tar.gz两个文件。
　　如果你双击那个 rpm 文件，会提示说不支持的软件包，因为 rpm 是为 RedHat 准备的安装包，我们需要的是 .tar.gz 那个。
　　2、把 .tar.gz 文件拷贝而到桌面，右键菜单-解压缩到此处。会自动解压为一个 vmware-tools-distrib 目录。
　　打开终端(系统的应用程序菜单-附件-终端)
　　3、然后在终端里面执行以下命令行：
　　$ cd Desktop(要是中文的就是 $ cd 桌面)
　　$ cd vmware-tools-distrib
　　$ sudo ./vmware-install.pl
　　4、回车之后提示输入管理员密码，然后一路确认回车后(相当于在Windows里安装软件时所填答的诸多对话框，我们这里均采用缺省设置)，直到最后出现&Enjoy&&the VMware team&的字样后，VMwareTools终于安装完成了。
　　过程如下：
