  I. Brief Introduction to CATAS
  Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences (CATAS), the precursor of which was South China Special Forestry Research Institute, was established in Guangzhou in 1954, and was moved to Hainan Province from Guangzhou in 1958. In 1965, it was renamed as South China Academy of Tropical Crops Sciences, and was approved by related authorities to get its current name in 1994. During the developing history of more than 50 years, CATAS has gained great care from state leaders of different generations since the establishment of P.R.China, such as Zhou Enlai, Zhu De, Ye Jianying, Dong Biwu, Wang Zhen in the early time, and Jiang Zemin, Hu Jintao, Wen Jiabao at present time.
  CATAS has 14 institutes in four campuses, namely Danzhou, Haikou, Zhanjiang and Sanya (under construction), distributed in “six cities within two provinces”, Hainan Province and Guangdong Province. CATAS has 1 research station for post-doctoral degree and over 40 scientific research platforms, such as the State Research Centre for Tropical Crops Engineering Technology, the State Key Laboratory Incubation Base, the Ministry of Agriculture Key Development Laboratory and so on. As a comprehensive agricultural research institution with integrated subjects and broad research field, it has played the main role in supporting innovative science and technology for tropical agriculture of China.
  CATAS has a staff of over 3,000 among which there are 2,000 researchers, including nearly 300 advanced members, 12 outstanding experts of state or ministerial level, forming a talent team with high efficiency and scientific assignment for tropical agricultural innovation, science & technology management, achievement transformation and technology support.
  CATAS enjoys comparatively high popularity for scientific research on tropical agriculture both in domestic and overseas, especially in the fundamental research field such as researches on cassava, rubber, banana and other tropical crops, and some achievements have been in international top level. It has made significant breakthrough in researches on a draft sequence of the cassava, decoding the fungi genome of banana fusarium wilt, latex producing mechanism of rubber tree and so on. In applied researches, CATAS closely combines with the demand of agriculture development in tropical areas to continuously innovate to research and extent amounts of new varieties and new technology for rubber, cassava, fruit, spice & beverage and other tropical crops, for meeting country’s development, for ensuring sufficient supply of tropical agriculture products and for providing powerful scientific support for increasing farmers’ income.
  CATAS successively undertakes a number of major projects such as state “973”, “863” and supporting plan, and some key assistance projects from international organizations such as FAO and UNDP. It has acquired over 900 scientific and technical achievements, including 50 state-level prizes with one First Prize for State Invention and one First Prize for State Scientific and Technology Progress, over 300 ministerial and provincial level prizes, 137 materialized results, 174 kinds of innovative scientific products within 58 categories, and 68 patents.
  In the new development period, CATAS adheres to the administration principle of “Openness, Uniqueness and High Standard” to accelerate the construction of five bases of agricultural technology innovation, personnel training, achievement transformation, international cooperation and technology service, and to establish a world-class center for tropical agricultural science and technology. Meanwhile, the construction of national collaboration network for tropical agricultural science and technology further promotes the joint, extensive cooperation and great development of tropical agricultural science and technology.

  ChineseAcademy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences (CATAS) is a public welfare research institution at central level that is directly affiliated to the Ministry of Agriculture of the People’s Republic of China, specializing in tropical agricultural science research and undertaking major tasks of science and technology which is overarching, foundational, crucial and directional in the national tropical agricultural science development. In addition, it is a unique national agricultural science research institution which integrates tropical agricultural science and technology innovation, personnel training, international cooperation and communication, and achievement transformation and technology services as its central task.
  The study objects ofCATAS includemost tropical crops, such as natural rubber, banana, litchi, longan, mango, pineapple, coconut, macadamia nuts, cashew nuts, cassava, sugar cane, oil palm, sisal, pepper, cocoa, coffee and rice, vegetables, flowers, tropical pasture and so on. It is engaging in tropical agricultural science and technology innovation, international cooperation and communication and personnel training, transformation of sci-tech achievements, and demonstration and popularization.
  1.Rubber
  CATASis in advanced level inthe fields oftissuecultureofrubber anther in vitroand high -yielding cultivationofrubber in the world, ithas achieved major breakthrough in researching of the mechanism ofdead barkanddifferentiation of laticifers of rubber trees.it has also make great achivements in the fields ofbreeding of new varieties of rubber trees,stress-resistance cultivation,nutrition and fertilization,rubber tapping technology(technology of rubber harvest),disease and pest control, the technologies of primary processing and utilization of natural rubber and rubber wood. in a word,CATAS has made a significant contribution to the development and upgrading of the natural rubber industry in China .Since 1982,in the field of rubber, it has acquired 5 state-level prizes ,including one first prize for state invention, one first prize for state scientific and technology progress, three second prizes for state scientific and technology progress, at the same time, two researchers was awarded gold prize of international natural rubber research
  2. Cassava
  CATASisin a leading position in breeding ofnew varietyof cassava in the world. 17 new varieties of cassava of south china series have been bred,including South China 5 ,South China 6,South China 7,South China 8,South China 9,South China 10,South China 6068,South China 124,South China 8013,South China 8002,etc. at present, these new varieties of cassava of south china seriesbred by CATAShave been promoted to plant in a large area in Guangxi, Guangdong, Hainan, Yunnan and other regions,and thepromoted area of the new varieties is more than 45%, in last 3 years,theaccumulative area under these new varietiesis 635,000 mu, high-yielding cultivation techniques and advanced processing technologies are complementary at the same time, and the overall economic benefits achieved is about 1.1 billion. the item of “breeding of cassava and development, integration and application of the key technologies of industrialization has pasted the evaluation of thereview committee ofstate scientific and technology progressprizerecently, which is finished byTropical Crops Genetic Resources Instituteof CATAS.and Asecond prize was suggested to be granted with it.
  3. Tropical forage
  CATAShas beendevoting itself toresearching of collection, reservation and evaluation OF tropical forage germpaslm resource in a long time. In recent years, CATAS undertake many research of thenationalprogram for sci-techbasic conditions platform.CATAShasestablisheda national-levelnurseryof tropical forage germplasm resourcesand alargestliving preservation centerof pasturein south China。It has also established a tropical forage germplasm resources cryogenic library,more than 4,000 copies of tropical forage germplasm resourceshave been conserved ,too.In addition,CATAS have compiled and published many monographs ,includingflora of HAINAN forage,tropical forage plant resources in China,the standards of description for forage germplasm resource, etc. 23 new varieties of tropical forage have been selected and bred,includingleucaena leucocephalacv.reyanno.1,stylosanthes guianensis cv.reyan no.2。new varieties of tropical forage bred have been promoted to cultivate in HAINAN, GUANGDONG, GUANGXI, YUNNAN, SICHUAN, GUIZHOU, FUJIAN and other provinces to the south of the yangtze river in China,andtheaccumulative area under these new varietiesis more than 500万亩,which has brough tremendous economic and social benefits。
  4.Tropical spices, beverage crops
  1) Vanilla:CATASis in a leading level in the fields of high-yielding cultivationunder shade frameand processing of fermentation aroma-technology of vanilla in the world,vanilla is a rare tropical spice plant, known as "the king of food spice" . since 1983 ,CATASbegan to introduce vanillafor field experiment,and the study is successful, on this basis, the research of high-yielding cultivation and Integrated technology OF industrial development was carried out。Inaddition,CATASapply the cultivation modelof vanilla under artificial shade conditions, this is the first time in China to apply the model, as a result, the output of vanilla has exceeded the level of the main producing countries in the world. and it is also the first time in China toapplythetechnologyofcell-type hot-air fermentation aroma-france,it filled in the blanks of factory processing of vanilla in China。and it is the first time to design and manufactured the equipment of cranking up the pods of vanilla fruit continuously at home and abroad, realizingtheintegration of cleaning, cranking up the pods of fruits .processing technology and the standardsofquality evaluation of specific Food- type vanilla tincture habe beenproposed, and a series of vanilla tea products have been developed,the fields of application of vanilla is expanded. it built the first domestic vanilla research center, and carried out systematic research on the key technologies of the development of vanilla industrial。in vanilla research,CATAShas acquired 15 achievements,IN ADDITION,CATAS has acquired 8provincial or ministerialprizes. 6 patents of license inventions,2 patents of utility models, Besides,3 standards of agriculture industrywere established,in a word,CATAS has filleda number of gaps for china's vanillaindustry,it provide theoretical basis and technical supportto the development of China's vanilla industry.
  2) Pepper:high-yield cultivation techniques of pepper in China is in an advanced level in the world, as early as 1950,thepepperwas listed as a key research target,after systematic research,large-leaf variety daye (lampong type)was screened out as cultivar in pepper production in China,the variety is potentially high-yielding and high quality, and it have been promoted to pant in the suitable areas,the area under the new variety is more than 95%.inpepperresearch,CATAShas acquired 23 achievements,it has also acquired 10provincial or ministerial levelprizes OF scientific and technical achievements,2 standards of agriculture industryand 1 local standard of HAINAN province have been established by it,CATAS has provided theoretical basis and technical support to the development of China's pepper industry.
  3) Coffee:In 1995,eight clonesof coffea were selected from 82 high-yielding plants, which has good features of production early, high -yielding, strong adaptability,etc,the outputs of the eight clones are at an advanced level in the world, it is 4 to 5 times of the output of seedling treesgenerally cultivated.in the research and development of products, a series of special products is successful developed,including xinglongcoffee, cocoacoffee, coconut milk coffee,coffee sugar , etc.in coffee research,CATAS has acquired 10 achievements, it has acquired 1 prize for state scientific and technology progress,1 prize for Hainan scientific and technology progress,2 standards of agriculture industry,CATAS has provided theoretical basis and technical support to the development of China's coffee industry.
  4) Cocoa:The outputs of eight high-yielding varieties ofcocoabred by CATAS have reached an advanced level in the world, combined with the implementation of the project of 100,000 mu coconut in Hainan province, CATAS has actively carried out the studies of the matching technology of intercropping cocoa coconut garden. The production is more than about 50% of the average yield of the main producing countries In the world , and the production of the new varieties has great potential to be increase.CATAS hascarried out the researches of the technology of initial processing of cocoa beans and development of products, and A series of products of cocoa were developed, including pure cocoa powder,cocoacoconut milk, cocoa sugar, etc.Incocoaresearch, CATAS has acquired 7 achievements and 1 prize for Hainan scientific and technology progress, it has filled the gaps for the study ofcocoain China, and CATAS has provided theoretical basis and technical support to the development of China'scocoaindustry.
  5. Coconut, betel nut, oil palm
  In the last 10 years, Coconut Research Institute of CATAS has been carrying out the researches of technologies of breeding, farming and cultivation, plant protection and product processing of coconut, betel nut, oil palm and other tropical economic palm crops.So far, it has gotten an in-depth understanding of the background of germplasm resources of coconut, betel nut and oil palm in our country.The conventional technology of hybrid breeding improvementhas beea set of techniques of nutrition diagnose fertilizationhas beenformed, which can guide the scientific application of fertilizers of coconut in different periods. A set of technology modes of inter-species and planting and breeding in coconut garden has been established, whichhave been extended toa large area. Wasp and tetrastichus have been successful introduced byCATAS, which are the natural enemies of coconut leaf beetle,It protected the country's coconut industry effectively.
  6.Tropical fruits
  1)Banana:2000 m2of germplasm garden, 1333 m2of separated shed andin vitrostorehouse which can conserve 100 000 germplasms have been built, in which 200 germplasms from home and abroad have been conserved. The standards have been made for describing banana germplasm resources, controlling the quality of banana germplasm resource data,in vitroconserving tissue culture plantlets and fast propagating. Researches are carrying out on banana post harvest physiology, molecular biology, functional genome and etc. Early-maturing Brazil banana mutants and wilt disease resistant lines have been selected from tissue culture mutant plantlets through chemical mutagenesis. Banana seedlings are produced in factory through tissue culture depoisonizing technique, with a cumulated production value of RMB 12.5 billion Yuan. This achievement is just an example of applying biotechnology in tropical agricultural production and upgrading the agricultural sector, which shows that biotechnological innovation plays an important role in the development of agricultural production and provides techno-scientific support to the banana industry. Since 1991, three national patents have been obtained, one Shenlong Chinese Agricultural Science and Technology Prize of the third class has been awarded by the Ministry of Agriculture, and one Techno-scientific Advancement Prize of special class, two Techno-scientific Advancement Prizes of second class and six Techno-scientific Advancement Prizes of third class have been awarded by the Hainan provincial government.
  2) Mango:More than 200 mango germplasms from home and abroad have been collected and conserved. And 5 superior high-yielding and disease-resistant mango germplasms have been selected. A set of cultivation techniques for superior, high-yielding and high-benefit mango of different varieties have been formed through researches on the mango high-stem grafting/canopy changing technique, the drip irrigation/fertilizing technique, the nutrition diagnosing technique, the fruit sacking technique, the production period regulating technique, comprehensive pest and disease control technique, the special fertilizer for application on mango leaves, and etc. Since 1992, one Hainan Provincial Techno-scientific Advancement Prize of third class and one Hainan Provincial Techno-scientific Advancement Prize of forth class have been obtained, one Techno-scientific Advancement Prize of third class has been awarded by the Ministry of Agriculture.
  3)Pineapple:More than 70 superior pineapple varieties and germplasm resources have been introduced from 13 countries such as Myanmar, Thailand, Brazil and Malaysia. Comparison trials have been carried out for 6 introduced varieties. The varieties with comprehensive good characteristics have been extended for demonstration in Guangdong and Hainan. Pineapple nutrition comprehensive management technique, water-saving fertilizing technique, film covering cultivation technique and pineapple rotation and intercropping technique suitable for China have been formed through introduction of new foreign pineapple cultivation technique, dig the new pineapple variety breeding technique, the flower expediting technique, the comprehensive pest and disease control technique, and etc which provides technical support to superior and high-yielding pineapple production. The implementation of the demonstration base project has promoted the planting of new varieties and use of new technology by farmers and production enterprises in Guangdong, Hainan and Guangxi, covering an area of more than 1000 hectares.
  7. Nuts
  1) Macadamia:Germplasms have been introduced from Australia and the United States. And two macadamia varieties H2 and O.C have been selected out through many years and many sites’ variety comparison experiments and field production investigations, which are adaptable widely, and yielding early, high and stably. 12 superior, early yielding and high yielding plants have been selected through more than 20 years’ breeding and selection from seedling varieties.
  Researches have been carried out on superior macadamia seedling propagation technique system, high yielding plant managing technique system, key technique system for soil fertilizing and fertilizer application according to nutrition diagnosis, macadamia pest and disease control technique system, and etc. Researches have been carried out on processing procedures of drying of macadamia fruits with shells and roasting of kernel. Testing and analyzing have been made on the kernel quality of different varieties. And evaluation has been made of the colure, texture, taste and flavor of roasted kernel of 6 varieties according roasting procedures. Products have been developed including macadamia fruits with shells, roasted kernel of different tastes, and macadamia oil. Two agricultural professional standards have been made for the Ministry of Agriculture. Since 1999, one Techno-scientific Advancement Prize of second class has been obtained from the Ministry of Agriculture, and one Techno-scientific Advancement Prize of third class from the Yunnan provincial government.
  2) Cashew:The unique “cashew germplasm resource garden” was built in China in 2003. Up to now, 265 superior germplasms have been introduced from Brazil, Vietnam, Mozambique, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Cambodia. 40 superior germplasms have been collected from Hainan and Yunnan. 5 high yielding clones have been selected out through many years and many sites’ field selection and variety comparison plot experiments, which have been the popularizing clones in the cashew planting areas in China.
  Researches have been carried out on comprehensive techniques for fertilizing, pest and disease control, pruning, cutting, high stem grafting/variety changing, and etc. Cashew yield has been increased from 93 kg/ha to 862.5 kg/ha in 10 year old orchards. Researches have been carried out on comprehensive techniques for high yielding cultivation, pest and disease control, pest resistance, cold tolerance, green safety, and etc in clone cashew orchards, which increased cashew yield 4 ~ 6 times in 5 ~ 7 year old clone orchards compared with the seedling orchards. Cashew yield reached 3600 ~ 5400 kg/ha which is 3 ~ 5 times of the average cashew yield in the world. The cultivation techniques for superior and high yielding cashew clones have been integrated. The optimum fertilizer application quantity has been put forward to increase the cold tolerance and pest resistance of the plants and the fat and protein contents of the kernel. The fast propagation technique for plantlets by “branch grafting method”/bagging grafting has been developed. Researches have been carried out on cashew kernel processing technique. One national standard has been made for cashew kernel. The technique has been developed using cashew shell to make friction powder for the braking flake of motorcar, which was granted the national invention patent. Since 1990, three Techno-scientific Advancement Prizes of the third class have been obtained from the Ministry of Agriculture, one Techno-scientific Advancement Prize of the second class and one Techno-scientific Advancement Prize of the third class from the Hainan provincial government, one national invention patent.
  8. Sisal
  The cultivation technique for high yielding sisal is on the advanced level in the world. An agave germplasm resource garden has been built, in which more than 80 germplasms of 24 species belong to 6 genus have been collected and conserved. Classification identification and genetic diversity analysis have been made for 80 germplasms using biotechnology. Disease-resistant Yuexi 114 and Nanya No.1 have been bred out using sexual hybridization. The problem of seedling shortage in production has been solved through researches on fast propagation technique for seedlings, which accelerated the progress of popularizing of superior seedlings in sisal planting. In recent years, profound researches have carried out on sisal germplasm resource collection, conservation, identific selection and breed physiology of sisal and the efficient production technique. Since 1989, one Techno-scientific Advancement Prize of the third class has been obtained from the Guangdong provincial government, one Techno-scientific Advancement Prize of the third class form the Ministry of Agriculture and one Techno-scientific Advancement Prize of the third class from the state.
  9. Sugarcane
  70 sugarcane germplasms have been introduced. And researches have been carried out on hybridization and breeding. At present, a demonstration base of 3.33 hectares for healthy depoisoned sugarcane plantlets and a demonstration base of 10 hectares for healthy depoisoned sugarcane plantlets propagation have been built in the main sugarcane production areas in Guangdong. A demonstration base of 13.33 hectares for high yielding and high sugar content sugarcane production has been built. Demonstration has been made on sugarcane snout moth control, new cultivation techniques, and etc, which played good demonstration role for the neighboring sugarcane production areas.
  10. Tropical agricultural machinery
  Researches have been carried out mainly on comprehensive technique for tropical agricultur technique for extracting pineapple leaf fiber a techniques for making forage, methane, and organic manure using pineapple leaf dregs and banana stem dregs. Achievements on the above aspects have been passed identification, among which the technique for extracting banana stem fiber and the extracting equipments have been awarded with Hainan Provincial Techno-scientific Advancement Prize. Shirts, underclothes, underpants, socks and bedclothes made of fibers from pineapple leaves and banana stems are very much fond of by extensive consumers.
  11. Tropical agricultural product processing
  The first latex concentrate processing plant and the first natural rubber sheet processing plant in China were designed. Researches were carried out on the technique and equipments for standard rubber production. The first standard rubber processing plant in China was built. Serial new natural rubber varieties were developed, includingmethyl methacrylate grafted natural rubber and latex,prevulcanized latex,epoxidized natural rubber and latex, clay natural rubber, natural rubber special for meridian tyre, latex method chlorinating natural rubber, low protein natural rubber and latex, and etc. Techniques were studied and developed, including the production technique for extracting hygogenin and tigogenin from waste water from sisal processing, the production technique for extracting piperine and pepper oleoresin from pepper, the production technique for extracting vanillin from vanilla, the new technique for extracting highly active bromelain, the technique for fast coagulating of natural latex, the production technique for applying natural latex on water grass and sisal carpet back lining, the production technique for applying epoxidized natural latex on bo towline core fabric, the new technique for microwave drying of natural rubber, and etc. Especially, the continuous production line for mingled and standard natural rubber and the cashew processing equipment which were developed by the Processing Institute of CATAS have been exported many times to African and Southeast Asian countries, enjoying good reputation at home and abroad, and obtaining good economic and social benefits. In addition, the construction of Chinese natural rubber standard system has been carried out. Among the 73 issued standards, 55 have been formulated. On behalf of China, attitude was shown by voting towards natural rubber standards in the International Standard Organization. Up to now, over 170 techno-scientific achievement prizes have been obtained, including the National Techno-scientific Advancement Prize of the second class, producing huge social and economic benefits.
  III. About Teaching Facilities and Staff
  1. Teaching Facilities
  1) Fixed Asset
  Up to December 31st 2008, CATAS owns fixed asset valuing 370,000,000 Yuan in total which includes equipments valuing 180,000,000 Yuan, furniture 32,290,000 Yuan, vehicle 23,130,000 Yuan and buildings 126,000,000 Yuan.
  2) Instrument Facilities
  It has 4468 scientific research instrument facilities valuing 123,000,000 Yuan. 291 of them are around 50,000 - 100,000 Yuan per set, and some other 232 sets are above 100,000 Yuan each.
  3) Labs
  Now there are with an area of 28,176 square meters R & D labs, libraries,achievement exhibition rooms, the specimen rooms, equipment rooms, glass greenhouses and other research support space occupied 44,269 square meters.
  4) Classroom
  There are lecture halls with an area of 1400 square meters that can be used for teaching, which may maintain 1100 people totally. The boardrooms occupy 1100 square meters for almost 650 people. The academy-level lecture hall of 800 square meters is large enough to receive 550 the lecture hall of Bioscience and Biotechnology Research Institute of 324 square meters to receive 270 the lecture hall of South Subtropical Crops Research Institute of 74 square meters to receive 74 people and the lecture hall of Agro-products Processing Research Institute of 203 square meters to receive 150 people.
  5) Practice Base
  The practice base includes various germplasm parks, display garden of plant specimens, test bases and observation stations, a total of 15000 ares.

  1) Academic staff
  Around 3044 staffs service for CATAS now, with 2131 academic staff, nearly 300 senior researchers, more than 700 intermediate researchers, above 120 Doctors, 54 experts who enjoy the government special allowance, 5expertshonored the State-levelExperttitle, and 26 experts honored the Province-level Expert title. Majority of academic not only have research strength, but also the high-level foreign language ability. There are almost 70 people who with the intermediate and senior title, are able to engage in international training specialized. And 60 researchers have already taught kinds of specialized courses in various training classes from 2004 to 2008 period, involving the topics about the crops breeding, the cultivation, the planting management, the processing, the machinery, the trade, the risk early warning and the countermeasure, the dissemination of technology, the management and operation and so on. Their teaching capability and the teaching effect obtained the high praise of students from different countries.
  2) Managing staff
  International cooperation department is the major management body for foreign training class. In every research institution there are staffs that specialize to deals with foreign affairs, including 19 full-time and part-time management staff in total. During the period of international training class, they presented the outstanding manage capability for foreign affairs and built the deep friendship with students.
  3. A brief introduction to previous related training courses
  From now on, Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences(CATAS)hosted and cooperated 32 international training courses on tropical agriculture technology funded by ministry of commerce, science and technology ministry and ministry of agriculture of Chinese government with 700 participants from 85 countries, which were high approved by Chinese government, foreign government and trainees, with the details as follows:
  Before September 2007, CATAS and South China University of Tropical Agriculture(SCUTA)undertook all kinds of international training courses. In 1997, CATAS and SCUTA had qualified for foreign trainees’ enrollment confirmed by education department in Hainan province. In 2005, there set up academy of postgraduate and international college.
  CATAS has launched international training work after the reform and opening-up since 1984, when CATAS Rubber Research Institute has held “International course on pollen culture of rubber” lasted for one month for 2 trainees from French Agricultural Research Centre for International Development, 1 trainee from Rubber Research Institute of Sri Lanka and 1 trainee from Rubber Research Institute of Thailand. The technology of haploid plant obtained from pollen culture f rubber are leading in the world and making achievements input into national university teaching material “Genetic and Breeding”.
  From 1991 to 1994, in support of Zhang Liang Chen professor and national Science Committee, CATAS took advantage of State Key Laboratory for Bioscience and Biotechnology Research to offer 4 terms international training courses on biotechnology of tropical crops for 80 trainees from developing countries, and 20 trainees every term.
  From 2004 to 2011, CATAS has organized 26 international training courses, receiving 400 trainees from 69 tropical areas and countries in the world. There are both multilateral training courses and bilateral training courses.

  b. Training Courses on New Tropical Agricultural Technology for ASEAN Countries
  c. Training Course on New Tropical Agricultural Technology for Small Island Countries
  d. Training Course on Agricultural Technology for American Developing Countries
  e. Chinese Agriculture Project Management
  f. Training Course on Facility Gardening Technologies for South Pacific Countries
  g. Training Course on Natural Rubber Production and Processing Technology for ASEAN Countries(3 terms)
  h. Training Course on Natural Rubber Production and Processing Technology for ASEAN and African Countries
  i. Training Course on Cassava Production and Processing Technology for African Countries
  j. Training Course on Biotechnological Utilization of Tropical Resources
  k. Training Course on Technology Extension of Tropical Crops Production for African Countries
  2) Bilateral training courses include:
  a. Training Course on Agricultural Production and Agricultural Modernization for Cambodia
  b. Training Course on Cashew Cultivation Technology for Mozambique(2 terms)
  c.Training Course on Cassava Cultivation and Processing for Sierra Leone
  3) Training course contents:
  a. New Tropical Agricultural Technology(including more than 10 important tropical crops)
  b. Facility Gardening Technologies
  c. Natural Rubber Production and Processing Technology
  d. Cassava Production and Processing Technology
  e. Cashew Cultivation Technology
  f. Agricultural Modernization Technology
  g. Technology Extension of Tropical Crops Production
  h. Agriculture Project Management
