It is not so simple. First off, if there is methadone in your system the first thing the clinic will assume is that you are trying to "double dose".. which is getting methadon&e from 2 clinics at once. They will need to verify that you are not on any other clinic and that can complicate things. SOME clinics may even refuse you, while others may accept it all depends on their own policies and their own need for clients. With my clinic, you cannot enter with methadone in your system. While the clinic down the street from me will accept you after a week or so of verification. I would call ahead of time and ask them so as to not waste your time going through intake only to get turned down.

Testi&ng for Methadone assures that patients are taking their medications because most people that are taking Methadone are on a previous medication that is causing the withdrawal alot of Methadone users will sell the drug to get their drug of choice. Also they want to make sure the user is not abusing the drug by taking too much.
