The increasing quantity of litter is a current problem in Latvia, which can be successfully reduced by establishing a deposit system.
The aim of this thesis is to research and analyze the perspective of establishing a deposit system for litter in Latvia. The research is focused on the basis of the already existing managing system, legislation and experience of Estonia.
In conclusion, to be able to introduce a deposit system, changes have to be made in Latvian legislation, an operator has to be originated and the system needs to be popularised.
