A One-of-a-Kind Cyberpunk Setting: Experience the unique “Tech meets Magic” dystopian future of Shadowrun, a fan-favorite game setting now celebrating it’s 25th anniversary. Shadowrun: Hong Kong is a perfect entry point to the setting for those with no prior Shadowrun experience, while providing plenty of classic Shadowrun characters and tech for veteran players to sink their teeth into.
Command Your Team: Just like Dragonfall, Shadowrun: Hong Kong features a crew of flawed, dangerous runners with backstories that could only be possible in the tech-meets-magic Shadowrun setting. The members of your team are designed to play contrasting roles during missions, and each has a distinct set of skills, abilities, strengths, and weaknesses. Each team member also has challenges to face in their own lives, which you can choose to brush aside or play an important part in.
Gripping, Turn-Based Tactical Combat: When you’re running the shadows, every turn matters. Choose your actions wisely - move to better cover, charge into melee, or lob a fireball into a crowd of enemies. With over 200 weapons and spells at your disposal, every turn is filled with meaningful choices.
Skill-Based Character Progression: Choose a starting character archetype and build from there! Street Samurai and Physical Adepts use advanced combat skills to dominate the battlefield, Shamans and Mages summon powerful allies and cast deadly spells, while Riggers and Deckers provide critical technological support, projecting their consciousness directly into drones and computer systems. GREAT GAME!Played all of the Shadowruns in a row.Pros:+More Shadowrun+Well written story and characters that you care about.+More endings.+New cyber!!!+Upgraded UI+YOU CAN MANAGE YOUR PARTY ITEMS!+Even MORE text heavy.+You get to met secondary runners you can hire as well.+More decisions and different approaches to different missions.+You don't get to cut a deal with a dragon. (Or do we?)+Gobbet is cute. The ugly cute way.Cons:-Some bugs are still in the game.-Some stats can be useless in this particular game. (Rip biotech)-Needs a &Very hard& difficulty option.-Gobbet promised me soup and i didn't get to eat soup.I would give this game a fair 9/10If you like Shadowrun series make it a 10.

The story for Shadowrun: Hong Kong isn’t bad. It does delve deep into the area’s subculture and focuses a little too much on supernatural forces, but with it being the Sixth World and that we’re surrounded by previously mythical beings it does fit in well. While not quite as epic as Dragonfall it does play out much more fluid than Shadowrun Returns. Even so, it’s worth playing if you’re a fan of the lore.

Shadowrun Hong Kong provides a hefty amount of tactical combat, cRPG mechanics and a decent dash of choice & consequence, fixed around a pretty good story. There is not that many additions for those who've already played Shadowun: Dragonfall, but the developers seem to have improved the overall gameplay nonetheless.& Combat is straight-forward but more dynamic than SR: DF due to more abrupt means of enemy elimination, such as Duncan's Subdue, allow for much speedier resolution.& NPCs are well fleshed-out and impressive in their backgroudn stories. The game's take on the Walled City is quite interesting and deserves praise.& The game features some new character art (presumably via Kickstarter backer portraits), which are quite an upgrade on the diversified stock portraits from SR:R and SR: DF.& Martix system seems to be overhauled (as per KS stretch goals) but it's a moot point whether it's better or worse. Aesthetically it's much better than in previous games but gameplay-wise it's often frustrating to get +20 Trace (increasing the alarm status) per round.& Game length is acceptable, considering the side missions et cetera. Harebrained will also release an extra campaign to resolve some loose ends from the original campaign. Even without that, as per previous SR games, alternative means of gameplay are visible to the player (i.e. if you need a particular skill for a dialogue but don't have it, it'll often -not always- appear to you, so you may try that out during you next play-through).& The soundtrack is very well executed and fits the game's theme extremely well.Overall, the game is definitely worth every penny paid for it. There is also the level editor in the pipeline so further gametime can be obtained via Steam Workshop.

If you enjoyed SRR and Dragonfall you can't go wrong here.
As much as I enjoyed it, I do wish they'd taken another month or three to finish polishing the game and filling out all the story lines.
Particularly near the end of the game a lot of the minor characters' stories seemed lazily finished or in the case of the magic shop owner, just NULL txt after the climactic ending battle... kind of disappointing.
I played a decker on this, my first playthrough, I liked the revamped matrix overall.
I wasn't sure how I felt about the blocker ICE mini-games... I disliked the idea of it but was good at them and found it enjoyable at the same time.
It also seemed unimportant to ever get more than a mid-level deck which is fine I suppose... I was saving up for a Fairlight Excalibur but then I just kept buying more cyber and better armor and pistols and it never seemed like a major detriment.
I hope they continue making and improving upon these games, it's been a blast to inhabit the SR universe again!
Next major step would be an engine revamp/overhaul.
I don't have a problem with the graphics quality per se, but it would be great to have more... freedom and dynamism: movable camera, bigger maps, NPCs in motion more, etc.

I enjoyed this game a lot.Perhaps it's not as epic as Drangonfall, but it's way darker and filthier. There are loads of text with high quality dialogues and very engaging.I liked the revamped matrix system and the new UI. I've got stuck for a while in some combat scenes, wich are harder than previous Shadowrun games, even in normal difficult. Economic resources are very limited, so you have to spend wisely. This also made this game more challenging than previous. The end is so- I felt like Hong Kong deserved more, after all that efforts. But, of course, now I finished this, I can't wait for the next Shadowrun game. So go on, Harebrained Schemes!
