and Welcome to Just Answer,Sorry
delay ... It looks like Michael is not online this afternoon.May I ask if when you first set this system up, did you put the batteries in the outdoor transmitter FIRST, and then within about 30 seconds or so, put the batteries in the Main receiver? And was the transmitter then placed about 5-6 feet away from the receiver when the batteries were first installed in the receiver? And did you then WAIT ( to 2-3 minutes)
outdoor temperature reading to display on the MAIN receiver?I only ask because these systems have a &security code& that is transmitted within the first 3 minutes of powering up BOTH units - so that the receiver can &lock on& to the signal from the transmitter. If that was NOT done in that sequence,
then it will have to be done again, to be able to get the outdoor readings on the main receiver. If you DID do that sequence - at least a few times - and you still do not have the outdoor temperature showing, one of the components in the system MAY be bad.
If that is the case, I checked the Brookstone web site and found that they have a 60 day return policy, so if you need to return the system to them, that should be a relatively painless process.
I have the Brookstone contact number below - if you need it.Brookstone Customer Care Center : 1(###) ###-####/strong&Please let me know if you can get this set up using the sequence above, or if you have any more questions. Thanks, ***** *****(im)

Greg,I did what you said and I get
a reading like my indoor reading, about 5 degrees lowertony
replied&1 year ago.
again and thanks
information. So you ARE getting SOME reading now - is that correct? And did you have NO reading before?Just so you know, these are NOT the most "sensitive" or "highest quality" devices, and they may take 30 minutes or more to "stabilize" - and be within a degree or two of each other. Thanks, ***** *****(im)

GregI'm getting a reading.I't an indoor reading. I have 2 indoor readings. I've tried the batteries several times ,but thats all I getTony
replied&1 year ago.
again,You have TWO indoor readings????Can you explain exactly what those are, and WHERE they are on the display? Here is a screen shot of the screen of the main unit - from the manual (page 9) that you can use as a reference.
Please click the image to see if FULL size (I enlarged it).Do you have ANY display at the lower part of the screen - as shown in the image? Thanks
replied&1 year ago.
yes, I have a display in the lower part of the screen. It's an indoo temp. The indoor temp regesters82,the out door temp regesters 79.7
replied&1 year ago.
again,OK - unless I am misunderstanding - you now have temperature displays in BOTH sections of the display - in the middle and at the lower section - where you only had ONE sections displaying before.
Is that correct, and is the device working - as it should now? Thanks(im)
replied&1 year ago.
the device is giving me readings in both sections, but the temp in the lower (out door) section is'nt giving me an out door reading. The out door temp in NY today is 26. the out door temp on this machine is 77.3
replied&1 year ago.
again and thanks
clarification.OK - may I ask if the outdoor sensor (and transmitter) is actually OUTSIDE - at least a few feet away from any heat source - and NOT where the sun might be hitting it, OR getting heated air from the surrounding structures? Thanks
replied&1 year ago.
ok, I took the transmitter and placed it on the outside sill and am finally getting a proper outside readingHope it doesn't damege the transmitterThank youTony
replied&1 year ago.
again,No - it should NOT cause any damage, as these units are DESIGNED to be outdoors.BUT, please make sure you find in the manual about WHERE the sensor should be mounted - MAINLY in a &sheltered& location - where it won't get wet and is NOT hit by direct sunlight. If you need the electronic (PDF) version of the manual, I have a link to that below.Click here --& Please let me know if you have any more questions. And when you are ready, please take a moment to rate my service level (Excellent is my goal) so that I get credit
you today. You should see some &smiley faces& or &stars& to do that, but please let me know if you do NOT see them or can not use them. Thanks, ***** *****(im)

JustAnswer LLCTHE WEATHER STATION
THE WEATHER STATION
The Weather Station is the musical vehicle for Toronto artist Tamara Lindeman.
Her third and finest album yet, and her first for Paradise of Bachelors, Loyalty was recorded at La Frette Studios in France in the winter of 2014 with Afie Jurvanen (Bahamas) and Robbie Lackritz (Feist). The record crystallizes her lapidary songcraft into eleven emotionally charged vignettes and intimate portraits, redolent of fellow Canadians Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, and David Wiffen, but utterly her own. The album was nominated for the 2015 Polaris Music Prize.
All Of It Was Mine (2011), released on Canadian label You’ve Changed Records, found admirers around the world among both audiences and critics. Lindeman toured as a handpicked opener for Bahamas, Basia Bulat, Jason Collett, and Siskiyou, playing shows and festivals across both North America and Japan. She has also been in demand as collaborator, appearing on records by Doug Paisley, Field Report, Will Stratton, Siskiyou, and Daniel Romano, among others. Her series of recorded duets with Toronto-area songwriters was nominated for the 2013 SOCAN songwriting prize. The Weather Station’s acclaimed 2014 EP What Am I Going to Do With Everything I Know features contributions by members of
and Megafaun.
Though she is an extraordinary singer and instrumentalist, Lindeman has always been a songwriter’s songwriter, earning accolades for her delicate, carefully worded verse, filled with double meanings, ambiguities, and complex metaphors. Outside her musical practice, she also happens to be an accomplished film and television actor, but it’s her directorial eye for quietly compelling characters and the rich details of the everyday, Bressonian in its specificity and scope, that drives the limpid singularity of The Weather Station’s songs.
“Built from blocks of bluegrass, British balladry, and country sadness … Lindeman’s voice flits and cracks, peaks and valleys, comforts and cries … clenching truth like a catch in the throat. She possesses the unwavering patience of Bill Callahan’s later records, delivering every word and worry like she’s pondered it all into acceptance. For songs so intimate, and performances so inward, such careful singularity feels like a remarkable feat.”
