I ran into a stranger as he passed by. “I'm so sorry!”
was my reply. Then he said, “Excuseme too... I wasn't&&36&&watching
for you.” We were very polite, this stranger and I. Then we went&&37&&our
way after saying goodbye.
But at &38 , a different story is told.
How we treat our loved ones, young and old. Later in the kitchen, as I&39&our

her down. “Get out of the way!” I shouted with a frown(皱眉). She stepped away silently, with her little heart

That night, when I lay &&42&&in

excite... Go look around on the kitchen floor, you'll find some flowers there
by the &44 . Those are the flowers she brought for you. She &45

quietly, and you never saw the &46&in her eyes.”
By this time, I felt sad and small and now my own
tears had begun to fall. I quietly went and knelt by her&47 : “Wake
up, my dear,” I said, “Are these the flowers you picked up for me?” She smiled,
“I found them out by the tree. I &48 them in a napkin, just for
you. I knew you'd like them, especially the& 49 .” I said, “I am so
sorry that I missed them today... And I &50 &have fussed(慌乱)at you that way.”
And she whispered, “Mommy, that's okay... I still love
you 51 .” I hugged her and said, “I love you, too and I LOVE the
flowers.”
Do you know that: if you die tomorrow, the &52
&you are working for could easily replace you in a matter of days. But
the family you leave _53 &will feel the loss for the rest of their
lives. And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into our& 54 &than
into our families--an unwise investment indeed.

My grandparents were married for over half
a century, and played their own special game from the time they met each other.
The goal of their game was to write the word “shmily” in a surprise place for
the other to find.
“Shmily” was written in the steam left on the mirror after a hot
shower, where it would reappear bath after bath. At one point, my grandmother
even opened an entire roll of toilet paper to leave “shmily” on the very last
sheet. Little notes with “shmily” scribbled (潦草地写) hurriedly were found on dashboards (仪表板) and car seats, or taped to
steering wheels.
It took me a long time before I was able to
fully appreciate my grandparents’ game. Skepticism (怀疑态度) had kept me from believing
in true love — one that is pure and lasting. However, I never doubted my
grandparents’ relationship. They had love down pat. It was more than their
flirtatious (爱调戏的)
it was a way of life. Their relationship was based on devotion
and passionate love.
Grandma and Grandpa held hands every chance
they could. They stole kisses as they bumped into each other in their tiny
kitchen. They finished each other’s sentences and shared the daily crossword
puzzle and word jumble. My grandma whispered to me about how cute my grandpa
was, how handsome and old he had grown to be. She claimed that she really knew
“how to pick ‘em.”
But there came a dark cloud into my
grandparents’ life: when my grandmother got breast cancer. Gradually it took
over the whole of her body. One day, what we all dreaded finally happened.
Grandma was gone.
“Shmily.” It was scrawled in yellow on the
pink ribbons of my grandmother’s funeral bouquet (花束). The family came forward and
gathered around Grandma one last time. Grandpa stepped up to my grandmother’s
casket (棺) and,
taking a shaky breath, he began to sing to her. Through his tears and sadness,
the song came, a deep and throaty lullaby (催眠曲,). Shaking with my own sorrow, I would never
forget that moment.

Dog walkers provide a 20 to 60-minute daily
walk for a client’s(客户)dog, making sure the dog answers the call of nature and gets proper
exercise. They often walk more than one dog at a time. Some walkers work for
dog-walking services, especially when starting out. Others have their own
businesses, and build by word of mouth and advertising. Dog walkers often work
part-time, and some provide other services like pet sitting or transporting.
In N.Y.C., dog walkers usually earn about
$25 an hour. If you work for a dog-walking business, you may earn less-if you
are on your own dealing with several dogs at the same time, it may be more.
What do you have to do to be a dog walker?
First, have a real love of dogs, and have a
good knowledge of how to get on with dogs. Try calling dog-walking services to
find out about openings. If you’re on your own, you’ll need to network and
market yourself. You might advertise your services in pet offices, grooming
businesses, or neighborhood papers. You will need business cards and a mobile
phone, and have good references and a clean background. You’ll also have to
deal with taxes and insurance. You should be physically fit, friendly, neatly
dressed and extremely dependable. Many dog walkers are bonded(被担保的)and insured, and this is a
definite selling point to clients.
Of course, you will be cleaning up dog
waste! You will also be outside in all kinds of weather. You may have to deal
with dogs that don’t like each other ,and difficult owners. It’s also an up and
down kind of business-clients can come and go.
For pet lovers, spending the workday with
dogs instead of navigating office politics is its own reward! You are your own
boss-you can dress casually, your doggy clients will love you
unconditionally, and you’ll get some great exercise!

plane to 是指我计划去做,加上go就不是一个完整句.
to 因为I have planed to go 后面还要接宾语,你可以这样写:I have plan to go to Beijing.但这样明显很罗嗦,所以就省略了,剩下I have planed to。感谢您的支持~
