OG10-204, A大，请赐教， 感激不尽
204. In recent years cattle breeders have increasingly used crossbreeding, in part that their steers should acquire certain characteristics and partly because crossbreeding is said to provide hybrid vigor.
(A) in part that their steers should acquire certain characteristics
(B) in part for the acquisition of certain characteristics in their steers
(C) partly because of their steers acquiring certain characteristics
(D) partly because certain characteristics should be acquired by their steers
(E) partly to acquire certain characteristics in their steers
答案E，明白OG从逻辑上考虑。按语义来说我没问题
但是从结构上， 不应该是partly becuase。。。 AND partly becuase。。。 吗？我觉得GMAT在这个问题上还是很重视的啊！
OG说过，relative clause， 就必须:&sth, that... and ...that& or &some palce, where...and where.&, 不能有&some place, that... and where...&
请指教！！

OG关于C的解释：Choice C causes a misreading, suggesting that the steers' acquisition has caused the crossbreeding.
不明白，觉得C就是说：杂交是因为掌控获得某一特征，&&E：杂交的目的是为了在掌控中获得某一特征
怎么个因果颠倒了？
Official Guide 的意思是说，因为那些牛得到某种特征了，所以 cattle breeders have increasingly used crossbreeding。这就是 C 逻辑错误的理由。不过就算没有这个错误，C 也可以排除的，因为太不顺了。同时 because of 后面应该跟名词性词组，不应该跟 their steers acquiring certain characteristics 这样的一个 participle clause。
不过 E 也不正确，因为 acquire 这样用法就算不错也是太古怪了。这样才顺：
In recent years cattle breeders have increasingly used crossbreeding, partly because they want their steers to acquire certain characteristics and partly because crossbreeding is said to provide hybrid vigor.
because of 怎么可以说绝对错？我就常常用 because of 的！这都是正确的用法：
Griselda lost her job because of him.
Griselda lost her job because of his sabotage.
Griselda lost her job because of his unreasonable demands.

E不可能正确 ，to acquire没有逻辑主语 不定式一定要有逻辑主语

to acquire在这里的主语是否应该是steers而不是cattle breeders呢
不是说不定式一定要有动作承受者的呀 我是这个意思&&我认为to acquire主语应该是牛吧
而这里他却没有说 ！！！！！！！！
比如OG12 The olympic Games helped to keep peace among the pugnacious states of the Greek world,proclaiming a sacred truce.
A.world,procliaming a sacred truce
B.world,for a sacred truce was procliamed during the month of the festival
OA is B&&OG的解释就是说这里的procliaming没有动作发出者 而D不出了动作发出者的主语a sacred truce 所以正确
