Or is anyone else sick of being told not to buy things for their baby or not to tell people they are pregnant bcoz they are only in their first trimester!!!! Yes i realise there is a chance of miscarriage!! Yes i am worried!!!! Yes i do freak out everytime my belly does anything or when i go to the toilet!!! But NO I dont need to be reminded by everyone else everyday!!!! What happened to all the positive people in this world? I dont remember all this negativity with my first born. Whatever happens is going to happen whether i buy baby stuff or not! And yes it would be awful to be reminded by the things i had bought but r we supposed to wait until we r in labour to buy things? Or maybe after bubs is born my SO can go out and get everything? Or maybe we should wait til bubs is 1 b4 buying anything permanent just in case anything happens???

In my culture.. we dont buy baby stuff before the baby's arrival its considered inauspicious. But i never faced any problem bcos of this orthodox thinking.&&Wen my family and frnds got the news they got us gifts which sufficed the baby for the first month. We have a ceremony for the mother and the baby on the 40th day. After that me and my husband went shopping and got all that we wanted.And now for my 2nd kid i have the bear minimums needed.. plus here we dont get to know the gender of the baby so its difficult to buy stuff.

yeah.. when my husband was trying to stop me from telling people that i was pregnant at 8 weeks, i told him that if he's not proud..i am.. then he started with saying risks and all that.. i want a baby.. and everybody is happy about it.. since then, i talk about it all the time.. he started talking about it too.. just dont mind those people.. they do not know the real joy of having a blessing inside you that makes you wanna be ready for it..

Ooo baby shopping is so much fun!! Go nuts! If you want to buy a bunch of stuff then go ahead. Its your baby and your joy. Who cares if someone goes shopping even if they havent conceived let alone are actually pregnant. Make the most of stress free shopping without a little one in tow. I think it's kind of nice to know that people care so much to say that. I mean, I had two miscarriages before this one stuck and was so depressed before... all my friends were excited but made sure I remembered not to get anything until after 15 wks this time (lost the first at 8 and the second at 13 wks) just to be safe. I was truly touched that they cared so much and remembered and they all rallied around me to keep my spirits up so I wouldn't worryover losing this baby. I just hit 25 wks and so glad I waited because I almost did lose this one too.

It drives me crazy too. I feel yhey same way. I'm actually glad my mom is just excited. My son will be six and we have the baby dresser and changing table but when I called her the other day she said she was looking for a crib. I am only 5 weeks 4 days. I look at it this way I but some awful change I miscarriage we when eek sill try for another so I still need it.

This is my third pregnancy and I have never waited to tell anyone or buy anything. Although I wish I would've waited to buy clothes only because when her dad and I went shopping and bought things according to season and normal baby sizes, only to find out she will be extremely small, but thankfully everything has tags and I can easily sell them since the return date is up. Also I got extremely lucky with the carseat I purchased can be used for 4lbs and up and has attachments for preemies, unlike most. I do not however regret telling anyone before 12wks or purchasing anything before baby is here!

Honestly, I don't think I told everyone I was pregnant until I was about 17 weeks. I had a rrough pregnancy. Threatened miscarriage at 7 weeks, bleeding again at 8 weeks, and bleeding again at 14 weeks. I loved the advice that my mom and my sister told me about not telling everyone. At 20 weeks I had to have a cerclage in (stitches in my cervix) because I only had .5 cm left of my cervix. I almost lost my baby. I wish I would have never told anyone besides the important people. I'm also not buying anything because I don't know what I'm getting at my shower

It was easier when I didn't have everybody hounding me and feeling bad for me. So after my second miscarriage, I just decided that I wouldn't say or do anything until I felt I was outta the woods. Doesn't mean I wasn't excited or didn't enjoy and embrace my pregnancy.
