Our core Internet development language is Microsoft ASP. We use VBScript script
for all server side scripts (Javasript for client-side) to build custom applications
that provide integration with standard industry databases (see Database Development
section below). We will work with your agency (or hire one for you) to ensure
your online application looks good and integrates into your existing website.
Whether you are developing for the Internet or the desktop you will more than
likely need a database on the backend to store your application's information.
Depending on the size and scope of the project we will typically use SQL Server
or MySQL, but have experience working with other vendors
(Oracle, Sybase, Informix, etc.). We will develop an optimized relational database
for your application (or work with an existing one) and ensure that all SQL statements
and stored procedures are tuned for high performance.
Need to move data from one system to another? We will analyze the situation and
help you develop a sound strategy. We can write routines to parse ASCII files,
load databases, scrub websites for data, reformat data values, perform backups,
transfer files, etc. After coding and testing is complete, we will help migrate
the data and assist your staff with the transition or future conversions (if
they are reoccurring). We can also help with your data reporting needs and
have vast experience with Crystal Reports.
We utilize Visual Basic for all Windows desktop development. If you have an existing
VB application (4,5,6 or .NET) that needs modifications we can help! We can also
start from scratch to build that application that you've always wanted.
All projects include full documentation and follow
industry standard coding procedures (thorough commenting, file & variable
naming conventions, code reuse, error handling, etc). Source code
is ready to be handed off to in-house staff for maintenance or a support
contract can be put in place to cover future enhancements and upgrades.
Full estimates are provided and a deposit is required before any
programming work is started. Almost all development contracts are
FCFS (fixed cost, fixed schedule). We provide one free hour of pre-start
consulting to all new clients and with your permission will invoice
you at our hourly rate to generate a Needs Assessment, System Requirements
and Scope of Work for each development project. Milestones and progress
payments will be identified in the project schedule. All invoices
must be paid in full before source files are released.
