As the global financial crisis hits the economy, it’s tough finding a job — especially if you’re competing with thousands of other hopeful students. Sometimes you get the interview, but don’t quite seem to land the job because you don’t have related experience. Don’t despair! Here are a few tips that might give you an edge.1. Get connected to your network and try to expand it. Talk to friends, family and acquaintances. Let everyone know you are looking for a job.2. Prepare your resume (个人简历) carefully and be sure it’s perfect. Have someone else read it over for typos (打字错误) and grammatical errors. Get professional help. It’s worth the money to present yourself well. If money is tight, read books on resume writing from your public library or search for free help on the Internet. 3. When you apply for a job, be sure you have the skills listed on the posting. If you get an interview, be sure to describe those skills thoroughly. Just having the skills is not enough. Expressing your abilities well can make all the difference in getting the job.4. Research typical interview questions and practice interviewing. Be well prepared for every interview. 5. Don’t be afraid to accept a position for which you are overqualified — if there’s room for advancements. Many great job advancements come from first doing well at an entry-level position. If you have the right skills and attitude, it won’t be long before you’re in the job you want.6. Volunteer for a few weeks in your field of study to gain experience if you feel your resume needs an improvement. 7. When deciding what to wear for an interview, think about the position level and the dress code of the organization. 8. Use every tool available to you. For example, this site has many job links for your use. Good luck!【小题1】What’s the author’s advice on preparing a resume?A.To read it over several times by yourself.B.To get professional help even if it costs money. C.To copy something from books.D.To publish it on the Internet.【小题2】 If you lack related experience you can ____.A.make up some in your resumeB.read books to get second-hand experienceC.do some related voluntary workD.get some training at schools【小题3】 The purpose of the text is to ____.A.show how to prepare for an interviewB.wish people good luckC.encourage people not to despairD.give advice on how to find a job

Pressure too much?
&&& In our daily life we are used
to hearing these words, “I can't wait for my holiday,” “I wish I could stay
home today” And “I'm very tired.” These words come from pressure at work. Now
the “iron rice bowl”(铁饭碗) is being broken into pieces. Workers may be
fired if they don’t perform their duties well. They have to do their jobs

earning money. It appears to be meaningless and worthless.
&&& But pressure is a natural
part of work. There is no way to keep away from it. We should face up to it.

happiness and pride rather than a punishment or a burden .In fact, a certain
amount of pressure can provide challenge and chance for learning. To a modern
man who is worried and low in spirit, developing a hobby and finding a new
interest is of first importance. I like listening to pop music, which makes me
calm and gives me pleasure.
&&& If pressure becomes difficult
to deal with, we should turn to our friends or families. We can have a drink
with our friends and talk about the problem. We should always discuss our
problems with our families. Good advice, warmth and happiness that families
bring to us can reduce our pressure and encourage us to smooth away all
difficulties.

the education at the university. You know the next part ,maybe—we managed to
turn an ordinary garage in Peplo Park, California , the USA into our first
office, in which Google was born. With excitement we typed the name of the
thing which we created with love on September 14th,1998—.

(One day Alice runs after a strange rabbit and comes into a deep hole. She becomes smaller when she wakes up the next day. She finds herself in a wonderland with many amazing things inside.)
The Caterpillar(毛毛虫) and Alice looked at each other for some time in silence. At last the Caterpillar took the pipe out of its mouth, and said to her in a tired, sleepy voice. “Who are YOU?” said the Caterpillar. This opening for a talk couldn’t make Alice at ease. Alice replied, rather shyly, “I----I hardly know, sir, just at present ----at least I know who I was when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.”“What do you mean by that?” said the Caterpillar, “Explain yourself!”“I can’t explain MYSELF. I’m afraid, sir.” said Alice, “because I’m not myself, you see.”“I don’t see.” said the Caterpillar.“I’m afraid I can’t put it more clearly.” Alice replied very politely, “for I can’t understand it myself. And being so many different sizes in a day is very puzzling.”“It isn’t.” said the Caterpillar.“Well, perhaps you haven’t found it so yet.” said Alice. “But when you have to turn into a chrysalis(蛹,茧)----you will some day, you know ----and then after that into a butterfly, I think you’ll feel it a little stranger, won’t you?”“Not a bit.” said the Caterpillar.“Well, perhaps your feelings may be different.” said Alice. “All I know is, it would make ME feel very strange.”“You!” said the Caterpillar scornfully. “Who are YOU?” The question brought them back again to the beginning of the talk. Alice felt a little angry because the Caterpillar was making such VERY short sentences. She drew herself up and said very seriously, “I think you ought to tell me who YOU are first.”“Why?” said the Caterpillar. Here was another puzzling question. As Alice could not think out any good reason, and as the Caterpillar seemed to be very unpleasant, she turned away.“Come back!” the Caterpillar called after her. “I’ve something important to tell you!”This certainly gave Alice some hope. Alice turned and came back again.小题1:Where may their talk take place?A.In a wonderland.
