not...but...不表示递进，表示转折，but前后通常使用平行的结构 【不是...而是...】当主语一样时,把两句合为一句,省略后一句的主语和谓语，改为but连接。有两者对比的转折意思。如楼上的He's not rich but poor.可以写成 He's not rich。 He is poor.
