我知道当that引导从句时that可有可无，但是和how、what等词相连时是否可以保留？比如说：I wan to konw how you spent your last vacation.可不可以在how的前面加一个that作为引导，还是说how本身就有引导的作用不能加that？那这个句子有没有结构问题?I want to konw that how you spent your last vacation,这样how、that可不可以同时出现呢？
这个问题快把我逼疯了！都初二了，英语没学好很后悔，望智者指点迷津！！
楼主的问题：我知道当that引导从句时that可有可无，这是不太准确的说法。主语从句中，如果主语从句开头做主语（换句话说不采用先行主语的情况），这里的that是不省略的。表语从句中的that一般也要求不省略（偶尔有省略的），同位语从句的that一般也是应该保留。
楼主的可以看做宾语从句，宾语从句大概就3种情况，第一种是陈述句（that)引导，that可有可无，当然如果宾语从句是两个并列的陈述宾语从句，第二个宾语从句的that应该保留，不然有时会引起歧义(在难度大一点的考试题目中是考点）第2种：一般疑问句（if/whether....)至于区别if/whether，百度自己去寻找。第三种就是特殊疑问句when/how/whose/where...这类的，根本不接连词that

Jo: Today&s word is helpdesk. That&s help H.E.L.P. and desk D.E.S.K. Helpdesk.

Jo: Well, a helpdesk is somewhere you call to get help with your computer, for example.
Jean: OK 我知道了，a helpdesk 就是给用户大众提供帮助而设置的咨询或是信息服务台。
Jo: Yes. If you have a new computer system at work, you might have problems and say let&s call the helpdesk.
Jean: 或者如果我说 I work on a helpdesk 就是说我在信息咨询服务台工作。
A: Whatever I do my computer won&t connect to the internet.
B: Well, why not call the helpdesk? They&re open 24 hours.
Jo: Do you like my new mobile phone, Jean?
Jean: Yes I do, is it good?
Jo: Yes, but it was difficult to use at first. I had to call the helpdesk to find out how to use it properly.
Jean: Really?
Jo: Yes. But they were very helpful.
Jean: How many times did you call?
Jo: Quite a few times. I&m not very good with technology. Fortunately the people on the helpdesk were very patient.
Jean: Well that&s good that they&re very patient with you. 好了，今天我们学到的新词 helpdesk 就是在车站酒店等公共场所服务机构所设置的咨询服务台。And that&s all we have time for today.

　　英语单词help的用法，下面为大家整理一下关于help的用法，help (to) do sth或help sb (to) do sth。
　　We helped her (to) find her things. 我们帮她找东西。
　　I helped him (to) repair his bike. 我帮他修自行车。
　　I helped (to) wash the car. 我帮忙洗车。
　　He helped (to) do the work. 他帮助做这工作。
　　但是，如果help用于被动语态，则其后不定式必须带to。如：
　　The boy was helped by a woman to collect his scattered coins. 那男孩由一个妇女帮他捡拾散乱一地的钱币。
　　另外，当不定式为否定式时，其中的to通常不宜省略。如：
　　How can I help my children not to worry about their exams? 我怎样才能帮助我的孩子们不为他们的考试着急呢?
　　注：在美国英语中help之后的不定式多不带to。在英国英语中help之后的不定式不带to时往往有帮助者参加不定式所表动作的含义，带to时则无此含义。比较：
　　He helped her to mount the bicycle. 他扶她上了自行车。(&他&不参加不定式to mount所表的动作)
　　He helped her lift the box. 他帮她抬那箱子。(&他&参加了不定式lift所表的动作)
