缩略为了称说方便使事物称谓中的成分进行有规律的节缩或者省略叫做缩略缩略词有的缩略形式形成了紧密结构凝固成为一个能自由运用的单位叫做缩略词在英语中一个可以用任何方法缩短将通过一些字母部件绘制在一起[1-2]
近年来缩略语大量的被使用汉语缩略语因为数量较少含义明确使用相对规范
但是诸如英语缩略语等因为数量巨大并且还在不断地生成之中客观上造成使用不规范误导民众等后果
2010年中央电视台明令禁止在电视节目中使用英语缩略语如先前被广泛使用的NBA被改称美国男子职业篮球联赛我国鼓励对外语缩略语进行恰当的翻译后进入汉语词汇反对不加翻译直接混入汉语中的外文缩略语对外文缩略语的限制与规范是维护汉语纯洁性的重要举措
在英语中通常指一个多音节的词扔掉一个或几个音节然后变成的词语比如PHOTO就是PHOTOgraph的缩略词缩略词也可以是省略后面几个音节只保留前面这种方法是最常见的比如intro是introduction的也可以省略前面的单词比如chute是parachute的缩略词除此之外还有一些其他的保留中间音节的缩略词比如flu是influenza的缩略MKT: market
