今夏，欧洲劲旅谁将称霸欧洲杯呢？双语趣拿新闻与语言找乐儿！作者：崔元磊&这个夏天，在众多球迷和伪球迷看来，最关注的莫过于在法国激战中的欧洲杯了。&昨天晚上进行了三场比赛，其中有英格兰和威尔士的大不列颠及北爱尔兰联合王国的“内战”，又有德国和波兰这对具有深厚历史渊源的邻国之间的比赛，让我们跟着新鲜出炉的外电战报，来学习下欧洲杯的足球词汇吧。&“&德比&Derby&”英国德比郡的足球队1884年建队。英格兰2:1逆转威尔士，这场英伦“德比”（British Derby）战在比赛前就受到了广泛的关注。“德比”这个词在球迷耳中一定不陌生。“德比”是英国小城德比郡（Derby），那里是英国举办赛马比赛的地方，1870年，英国的德贝伯爵（Sir.Derby）创立英国大赛马会后，每年六月的第一个星期三在伦敦附近的Epsom举行赛马，这天也被命名为Derby Day。在赛马比赛中，参赛马大都来自德比郡，“德比大战”被用来形容“来自德比郡的马之间的比赛”。英国德比郡的足球场渐渐地，“德比”被引伸到其他体育比赛领域中，英国人把它引用到了两支同城球队之间的比赛，这种比赛往往会因为两支拥趸之间截然不同的立场而从场上到场下都显得尤为激烈，如“曼彻斯特德比”，即同处曼彻斯特市的曼联与曼城之间的红蓝之争。现在“德比”这一概念有时也扩展到整个国家，如“西班牙国家德比”，就是西班牙最强的两支俱乐部，皇家马德里和巴塞罗那之间的比赛。&关于这场英伦德比的赛果，美联社（AP）的新闻导语是这样的: &Jamie Vardy&equalized with his third touch of the ball.&Daniel Sturridge&scored the winning goal in the first minute of injury time.“&扳平比分&Equalize&”&头球攻门equalize作为普通的动词，大家都知道是“使…平等”，“使…均等”的意思，在足球的语境里，也很好理解，就是“扳平比分”。通常扳平比分的进球叫“Equalizer”。“扳平比分”还有一个说法就是“level”，也很好理解，“恢复到同一水平线”。路透社（Reuters）的报道就是这么写的：&Vardy levels, Sturridge grabs stoppage-time winner.&“&伤停补时&Injury-time, stoppage-time&”&足球比赛对抗很激烈，过程中也经常会出现球员受伤倒地的情形，以及犯规判罚红黄牌等，所以足球比赛在正式开始90分钟之后，裁判还会根据本场比赛的情况，将中间停顿的时间相应地给补回来，一般在2到3分钟左右，5分钟及以上已经算是比较罕见的长了。&不过你可千万别小看这几分钟，很多时候足球比赛的结果都是在这几分钟内被改变的。本届欧洲杯小组赛赛程才刚过半，已经有6个补时阶段的进球，而此前欧洲杯单届比赛的纪录是8个。&12分钟的伤停补时还有一点需要提醒部分伪球迷的是，足球比赛和篮球、排球比赛不一样，教练无权通过暂停叫停比赛，想要重新调整战术只能靠场边手势、大喊大叫或者换人。但是在2014年巴西世界杯期间，因为当地的高温，国际足联首次引入“喝水暂停”（water break）规则，比赛地气温超过32摄氏度时，上下半场可各有一次喝水暂停。足球比赛的“中场休息”则用interval表示，如昨天的比赛中，England was one goal behind at the interval. （中场休息时英格兰队一球落后。）&说了这么多，让我们看看球都是怎么进的：Gareth Bale&put Wales ahead in the 42nd minute by scoring his second long-range free kick of the tournament.&“&任意球&Free kick&”一般是在一方出现犯规之后，另一方将比赛重新开始的一种方式。任意球又分为direct和indirect，直接任意球和间接任意球。顾名思义，直接任意球就是球员可以在主罚任意球的过程中直接将球射入球门，而间接任意球必须经过与队友之间的传递或者触球。而昨天威尔士当家球星贝尔打入的就是一记直接任意球。&任意球往往也是足球比赛中最富有欣赏性的场景之一，因为任意球往往能体现球员精湛的脚法，很多技术出众的运动员都以擅长主罚任意球而闻名于世，贝克汉姆、齐达内、皮尔洛都是一等一的足球高手。（友情提醒：这三个人本届欧洲杯都没有出现哈。）&任意球踢出来的“香蕉球”或者“电梯球”，英文里都可以叫作“curved ball”，不过banana kick这么形象的表达也得到了不少的认可。&足球比赛最重要的就是进球，但是有时候足球比赛90分钟踢下来双方都无法攻破对手的球门，就形成平局。昨天晚上，德国和波兰一站就形成了本届欧洲杯的第一场平局（Draw）。而美联社和法新社在标题中使用了同一个词“Stalemate”（僵局）。还有一种类似的说法是deadlock，如果在比赛中有一方球员能够首先进球，一般称为“break the deadlock”。&法新社的报道：Old rivals Germany and Poland fought a battle of attrition that ended in a goalless draw and edged both countries towards a place in the last 16 of Euro 2016 on Thursday.&（老对手德国和波兰在一场消耗战之后不能不握手言和，这场平局也使得两队在本届欧洲杯的出线形势上占据优势。）&The stalemate left Germany on top of Group C on goal difference with both sides on four points from two matches.&（平局之后，德国和波兰两队同积4分，德国以净胜球优势排名小组榜首。）&其他值得学习的重要词汇&Goal difference: 净胜球。即进球数减去失球数，这在一些情况下也是决定球队排名先后的标准之一。&欧洲杯，以及世界杯、美洲杯、亚洲杯在内的赛事都属于锦标赛（tournament），一般分为两个阶段，小组赛（group stage）和淘汰赛（knock-out stage），小组赛进行单循环（round robin），每场比赛可称作pool match，小组出线的球队进入淘汰赛，淘汰赛中如果在90分钟之内无法分出胜负，就要进行上下半场各15分钟的加时赛（Overtime 或者Extra time），如果还是平局，那就只能进行残酷的点球大战（Penalty shootout）。&substitution （sub）:换人。在足球比赛中，换人往往是主教练根据场上形势，对球队阵容所作出的调整。优秀的教练能够审时度势，在换人上出奇制胜。英格兰和威尔士的比赛中，英格兰的两球全部是由下半场上场的替补打入。美联社在标题中直接写到：England subs pay off, earn 2-1 win over Wales at Euro 2016。（替补建功，英格兰取得首胜）。&路透社提到本场比赛的关键点就是Sturridge and Vardy brought on at halftime. “Be brought on”&也是替换上场的意思。那么主动语态可以用哪些词呢？请看例句：&Loew introduced forwards Andre Schuerrle and Mario Gomez to bring more of a cutting edge to Germany's attacking play in the final quarter.&（德国主教练勒夫在比赛最后十五分钟换上两名前锋，试图加强德国队的攻势。）这里外电直接使用了“introduce”&一词。&在体育新闻中，除了一些术语之外，很多我们常见普通的词在体育新闻中都有着其特定的意义。双语君曾经听一位前辈说过，体育新闻的写作也非常考验作者的英文功底。一词多义、一义多词，在体育新闻中体现得尤为明显。双语君希望今天的讲解能够让大家以后在接触体育新闻的过程中不至于一脸呆懵。好了，今天就到此为止，双语君要看球去喽。（编辑：刘伟）文中图片均来自网络。栏目主持人：熊二 & & & & & & &后台：大伯来稿、合作事宜，请发邮件至点击下方“阅读原文”查看更多【双语趣】精彩内容

One of the main talking points of the ongoing Euro 2016 was how easily and often Switzerland jerseys tore once they were pulled.

开赛之后，这位型男大叔果然没有挖鼻孔，而是给大家带来了全新震撼——

这张动图以及相关视频迅速在网上疯传，勒夫事后道歉说：都是肾上腺素（adrenaline）惹的祸！

他还说冰岛人庆祝的方式有点过头，好像他们已经夺得了欧洲杯一样：
"I thought they'd won the Euros the way they celebrated at the end, it was unbelievable."
这位巨星的烦恼还不止于此。德国《图片报》报道称，就在这场比赛结束后，C罗两度拒绝了冰岛队冈纳森交换球衣的请求，还傲慢回应：“你谁啊？”
好在当事人出来辟谣了，冈纳森说，C罗没有对他说“你是谁啊”这样的话，而是说：“好的，不过得去球员通道里”。哎，这一幕多么和谐，此处可以有掌声！

互交白卷的比赛虽然乏味，不过举行这场比赛的地点却值得一提——圣埃蒂安（Saint-Etienne）。18年前，正是在这片球场上，英格兰和阿根廷上演了一场经典的世界杯1/8决赛。
England lost to Argentina on penalties in the last 16 of the 1998 World Cup after David Beckham was sent off.
正是在那场比赛里，首次代表英格兰出战世界杯的贝克汉姆因为一个不冷静的小动作被红牌罚下，为自己的年轻付出了代价。

The European Championship starts in France in two days. Twenty-four teams will compete in the biggest soccer competition after the World Cup. Many people in France hope the event will help boost the country's economy and its spirits. But as NPR's Eleanor Beardsley reports, there is controversy swirling around the French home team.
(SOUNDBITE OF MUSIC)
ELEANOR BEARDSLEY, BYLINE: Workers test the sound system at the giant fan zone being set up under the Eiffel Tower. Paris is decked out in blue, white and red, and the slogan Allez Les Bleus & go Blues & is everywhere. But in the last week, Les Bleus have been at the center of a controversy. It was sparked by a player, Karim Benzema, who was not selected for the national team. Benzema, a French citizen of Algerian descent, charges he was excluded from Les Bleus because of racism. Mark Owen is with broadcaster France 24.
MARK OWEN: Karim Benzema is possibly the most gifted striker in French football, and in many ways, he's an idol for thousands, maybe millions of youngsters who are French-speaking across the globe. But Karim Benzema is also a really controversial character.
BEARDSLEY: Owens says Benzema, a star player for the Spanish team Real Madrid, would have surely been chosen if he wasn't under investigation for allegedly blackmailing a fellow player using a sex tape. Politicians from left and right weighed in on the controversy, noting that the French squad of 23 includes 13 players of Arab, African and Caribbean origin.A leader of the far-right National Front Party said Benzema should go and play for Algeria, but President Francois Hollande said France should stand behind its team.

BEARDSLEY: &Of course we have to fight discrimination and racism,& he said, &but the French team was not selected for their race or origin.&

BEARDSLEY: In 1998, a multiracial French team of black, white and Arab origin players won the World Cup at home in Paris. They were feted as national heroes, says Mark Owen.
OWEN: That team from 1998 was held up as the team that represented that the mixed society of France really, really works. In football, anything works when you're winning. When you're losing, it all falls apart, and everybody searches for a scapegoat.
BEARDSLEY: Though some prominent French voices have questioned the lack of players of North African origin in French football, a poll shows 93 percent of the French don't believe their soccer is racist. But there have also been questions raised about players' patriotism because of their attitude towards the French national anthem.

BEARDSLEY: Last November just after the terrorist attacks in Paris, &La Marseillaise& was played at a Real Madrid game. As the anthem ended, TV cameras showed Karim Benzema spitting on the ground, an action that angered many people in France. Emmanuel Blanchard of the Institute of Political Studies says players with dual nationality face closer scrutiny.
EMMANUEL BLANCHARD: (Through interpreter) The French soccer team is scrutinized by commentators, politicians and intellectuals who want players to show exemplary behavior and patriotism. That was never an issue in the past.
BEARDSLEY: The assistant coach of Les Bleus says France might have problems with integration, but he says to project that issue onto the national team on the eve of the European Championship is intolerable. Eleanor Beardsley, NPR News, Paris.
