Dear judges, it is a great honor for me standing here to present my speech telling you the story about my first novel writing.Fascinating by the magical world created by J.K.Rowling, I was inspired. Harry Potter helped me realize my passion and encouraged me to speak out my dream bravely: I believe that I can become the next J.K. Rowling! Driven by my strong desire, I started my first novel. Though there are many hard times when new ideas were unwilling to come to my mind, when I tried to balance my time between writing and study, and when I devoted all my effort revising the first draft again and again, I knew at the very beginning that all these will be paid off and all is worth trying. My novel became a sensation at school. I received praises from my close friends, my teacher, and even people I don’t know. 2015年北京东城区科技英语创意大赛个人赛通知

　　一、活动目的：
　　配合北京市中小学素质教育的开展，提高中小学生的科技教育水平，使校外教育与学校教育互为补充、相得益彰；利用英语获取科学知识，培养中小学生利用科学的方法学习和综合运用英语的能力和创新精神、实践能力，使普及与提高相辅相成，以达到提高科学文化素质和创新能力的目的。
　　二、参赛项目和对象
　　1、参赛项目为个人赛，对象是东城区小学至高中年级的学生。
　　2、个人赛分四个组，小学一组（四至五年级）、小学二组（六年级）、初中组、高中组。
　　三、组织办法
　　学生自愿参加。以学校为单位集体报名。
　　四、培训方法（略）
　　五、竞赛办法
　　个人赛：分为初赛和决赛
　　初赛：笔试，初赛人数不设上限；
　　（1）初、高中组按各校参赛年级人数的1%为比例，报送决赛名单。
　　（2）小学四五年级组按两个年级总和人数的2%为比例，报送决赛名单。
　　（3）六年级组按参赛年级人数的4%为比例，报送决赛名单。
　　2、决赛：口试，小学组：问答；初、高中组创意演讲。
　　六、比赛内容
　　本次比赛以&地理科学&为主题，在东城区青少年科技馆网上所刊登的科普读物作为比赛命题范围。科普知识具有一定的趣味性和综合性。学生可以从网站上下载相关读物。
　　七、时间安排
　　1、日（星期四）下午2：00举办英语教师培训及领队会。
　　2、日（星期五）初赛。以初赛成绩为准，各校按规定人数选拔学生参加决赛。
　　3、日（星期日）决赛。
　　八、奖励办法
　　1、根据决赛成绩按组别分别评出个人一、二、三等奖。
　　2、辅导学生获一等奖的老师可评选优秀辅导员。
　　3、根据各校报名、组织、获奖情况评选组织奖。
　　有关竞赛未尽事宜另行通知。
