You may know your mother, but how
well do you really know Mother’s Day? Cards, flowers, sales, TV
specials, and a day off for someone who really deserves it ---- those are what
probably come to mind for many people when they think of Mother’s Day. But there’s more to the story.
The earliest Mother’s Day celebrations were held during spring in ancient Greece.
The celebrations honored Rhea, the Mother of the gods. During the 1600’s, England celebrated a day
called Mothering Sunday. On this day even servants were given the day off to
spend with their families. A mothering cake was even served with the family
meal.
In the US, Mother’s Day began in 1872 when Julia Ward Howe, who wrote the words to
the famous song The Battle Hymn of the Republic, suggested it as a day devoted
to peace. But it didn’t really become popular until
1907 when Anna Jarvis stared a campaign to honor mothers. She believed that
mothers could help people get over the pain they experienced during the Civil
War. The US isn’t alone in devoting a day to mothers. Many other countries
including Denmark, Finland, Italy, Turkey, Australia, Japan, and Belgium also
honor their mothers in May. Other countries honor their mothers at different
times of the year.
Learning more about Mother’s Day and celebrating Mother’s
Day are important, but probably not as important as understanding what your own
mother, or grandmother, or aunt has really done for you. And that will
certainly be appreciated more than one day in a year.

You'd be forgiven for thinking that running
after children each day would leave parents in the best shape of their
lives. But a study has found that the mothers and fathers of young children are
more unhealthy than their childless peers(同龄人).
Mothers with young children are heavier and
eat more calories and fatty foods, and consume more sugary dinks than chidless
women, scientists said. And both sexes are less active than those in their age
group without children.
Parents often choose quick,easily preparesd
foods that are high in fat and calories, and by choosing these foods they may in
turn serve them to their children, forming a cycle of unhealthy diet.
Dr.Berge,one of the study
authors,said:“This isn't a study about blame,this is about spotting a very
high-risk time period for parents that doctors should be aware of ,so they can
offer solutions(解决办法).”
According to the study ,mothers ate more
fatty foods and drank about seven sugary drinks weekly, equal to about four
chidless women. They also had an average of 2,360 calories daily,368 calories
more than women without children,With that many calorise, women that age would
need to be active to avoid to avoid gaining weight.
Fathers ate about the same amount of daily
calories childless men and both had an average boby-mass index(指数),but fathersgot less physical
activity—about five hours weekly ,compared to almost seven hours among chidless
men.
The study has several limitations-there's no data on how many
women reccently had babies.Ther's also no information on the number of single
parents, who likely face diet and exercise challenges.Sarah Kriger,an American
dietician who works with new mothers said some of the mothers may have had
postpartum(产后)depression,which
might affect their eating and exercise habits.
1.What does the author mainly aim to tell

unhealthier lives.

One of the most important meals of the day is
breakfast. In order for children to build strong bodies and for adults to keep
well, they should always eat a good breakfast. Eating the right food is
necessary for good health. You should eat different kinds of food in order to
keep a good health.
It is understood that a good breakfast may contain
eggs, bread, milk, and so on. By eating breakfast every morning, you can feel
alive and active in the morning’s work. After a good breakfast you can step out
into the morning air and feel wonderful. Anybody can feel better by eating a
good breakfast.
Many fathers and mothers are unable to get their
children to eat breakfast. There are many reasons for children not to eat
breakfast. One reason could be that they do not have a good example. It could
be that the father and mother do not eat breakfast. What ever the reasons are
for children not to eat breakfast, it can be bad for their health.
Without breakfast children may not grow as fast as
they should and may not study and play as well in school in the morning as they
could. They can have more illnesses, and, when they are ill, it may take them
longer to be in good health again than it takes children with good health
habits.
Good eating habits mean eating breakfast. Unless you
eat breakfast, you do not eat a full meal from dinner the night before until
lunch the next day. This is quite a long time for the body to go without food.
Food is the source of power for the body. Unless the
body gets food, it cannot keep operating at top speed. Without food the body
will slow down. Nobody will live without food. It is necessary to start the day
full of power. So you must eat breakfast so that you can keep in good health
and do your best each morning.
1.What should adults do in order to keep good health?
A.Eat less and
take more exercise.&&&&&&&&&&& B.Have less for
lunch.
C.Have more for
supper. &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& D.Have a good
breakfast.
2.Many fathers and mothers are unable to get their
children to eat breakfast because they __________.
A.always eat a
big breakfast&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& B.eat a little
for breakfast
C.eat more for
breakfast&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& D.don’t have breakfast at all
3.What will happen to the children without breakfast?
A.They may not
grow as fast as children with breakfast.
B.They may grow
faster and better than children with breakfast.
C.They may grow
as fast and well as children with breakfast.
D.They may
study as well as or ever better than children with breakfast.
4.Which of the following statements is TRUE?&&&&&&
A.Breakfast can
provide us the power we need.
B.Adults needn’t have breakfast.
C.Many fathers
and mothers are unable to afford their children breakfast.

breakfast is important to us.

Resolved Question:
I AMA divorced

for an adult child with disabilityndespite the judgement stating that it was up to the discretion of the court at said time I have contacted 2 lawyers who state that the courts can decide all over the place and that my son would have to repeat all the neuropsychological tests to prove or disapprove his lifelong disability.my ex is smart cagey and nasty and has remarried and lives outside the state of California and has not had real contact with the children I need to fight him without exhausting my funds help what is the best way to handle this matter?

Hello there:I understand the situation.
I actually have a child with autism as well.
But I am having some trouble with your question.
You wrote &what is the best way to handle this matter?&
That is somewhat vague to me and I am not sure how to direct you.
Could you either narrow the scope of your question or rephrase it?
replied&5 years ago.
Filing an order to show cause for child support for an adult disabled child who lives with me and is over 19 years old
replied&5 years ago.
Best way to obtain a court order without bankrupting me so may ex can provide child support for an adult disabled child which was stipulated I. The final judgement of my
replied&5 years ago.
Did not get a response
replied&5 years ago.
I apologize that there is a slight delay.
On my side of things, I get an email when a customer posts their response to my question.
I check the question, consider the information, formulate a response, and then post it.
There is typically a delay of 2-15 minutes, though it can sometimes be longer if I am not immediately available or helping another customer.
We have a &beta& instant message forum that we are developing, but it is not quite useful yet... keep an eye out for it.
But for now, the trade-off of reaching someone on a Sunday night is that the responses are less than instant.
So that said, I would like to get a little bit more clarification on the status of your situation, then I may be in a position to give a response without further inquiry.
Right now, is the trouble that you need to acquire an order for support, or merely enforcing the order for support that you already have?
There was mention of a prior
in your divorce decree, but it was not clear to me whether it expired when your child reached adulthood.
replied&5 years ago.
The child support expired when the child reached 19 if still in school ny son is now 22 years he paid child support on two children including my disabled son the youngest will graduate from high school in 2 weeks so he wroyte me alerted stating that child support obligations are over despite a clause in the final decree stating that my child with autism will be decided later and determined by the court so I need an osc but he is stating go ahead waste money no chance and is very hard-nosed and will probably place my child again uwith extensive testing to disprove a lifelong disability how can I expedite this matter without major court costs do I need lawyers that will drag out this issue
replied&5 years ago.
Well, California Family Code Section 3910(a) provides that &The father and mother have an equal responsibility to maintain, to the extent of their ability, a child of whatever age who is incapacitated from earning a living and without sufficient means.&, so there is no reason why the court would not order a parent to continue paying support for an adult child with autism.
Is there a conservatorship for your son in effect?
replied&5 years ago.
No he lives with me ex lives out of state and has remarried
replied&5 years ago.
Do I need conservatorship?
replied&5 years ago.
You may want to look into getting a conservatorship.
It would, under ordinary circumstances, address early and without conflict any of the evidence problems with regard to your son's capacity to earn a living.
It would also allow you (or the conservator) to file a petition for support directly on behalf of the child (the conservatee), as opposed to through your
Plus, it's just a good idea if your son will not be in a position to handle his own legal affairs and/or finances. To file an OSC for adult support, the standard Judicial Council Forms may be used.
At a minimum, this would include:You may also want to consider a motion instead of an OSC.
The differences between a motion and OSC are virtually non-existent in most cases.
One of the differences is that a motion may be served by mail in all cases, whereas an OSC may be served by mail in only most cases.
A motion would require use of form
instead of FL-300.Some counties also have local forms that are u they are usually available through the superior court's local website under &local forms& or they can be retrieved and completed a the time of filing.I'm not sure how &extensive& the testing would have to be.
You have the diagnosis and I would presume a lot of medical documentation.
The question of employability would typically not require much more examination and I would just ask that, if the father denies the extent of your son's condition in light of his diagnosis and history, that he be the one to pay for the testing.
