For a truly authentic feel of the city, Le Royal Meridien is perhaps better situated than some of its Bund-side counterparts. The hotel’s location gives you easy access to People’s Square, shopping along Nanjing Xi Lu and the Bund promenade without being directly in the line of the tourist invasions. The higher floors afford great views of the city down below and the Allure French restaurant serves some of the city’s better hotel cuisine. It is also only a short walk to an endless variety of quality local options, including those along Huanghe Lu, a street known for its food. The rooms are nice and comfortable, though not particularly noteworthy as far as five-star hotels go. The well-equipped fitness facilities and large indoor pool are certainly pluses.Recommended for:Business Travelers(1)

Very conveniently located in People’s Square, a quick ride to many of the big attractions around Shanghai. And right across the street from the metro for more daring people who want to brave the insanity and crowds that overwhelm the Shanghai subway system. The main lobby is above street level so that you’re quite removed from all the tourist traffic that is constant on Nanjing Walking street directly below the hotel. The staff was extremely helpful and well trained, a nice change from some other hotels in Shanghai and China. We were very pleased by the many different dining options throughout the Le Royal Meridien. The hotel features Sanghainese and Cantonese restaurants, as well as French and Italian restaurants and also a very nice main buffet with many dining options. The rooms were very nice, with little details that make a place stand out. There were rubber duckies next to the bathtub, might not be for everyone but a very cute addition. And the television acts as a bit of a separation between the room’s sitting area and the bed. A nice touch so that if you have people in to your room they aren’t directly looking at the bed. Definitely a great place to stay for business travelers and those who are more comfortable staying in big name hotels as opposed to one of the many boutique options available in the city. (0)
A design driven business hotel, Le Royal Meridien is located in the heart of Shanghai.
With People’s Square on it’s doorstep and the Bund dancing in the distance, it's a business hotel that would suit the solo traveler as well.
The lobby is on the 11th floor, so guests are spared the hustle, bustle and wandering eyes of tourists and locals alike.
Sharing the 11th with the lobby, are Allure the French fine dining restaurant as well as Le Bistrot, the all day buffet that’s famous for it’s La Vie en Rose Champagne Brunch on Sundays.
The entire hotel embraces natural light instead of florescent ones and even on a rainy day allows its guests to feel like they are outside. Recommended for:Business Travelers(0)

The hotel boasts 761 guest rooms in total. Each guestrooms and suites has floor-to-ceiling windows framing panoramic views of the Huangpu River, People’s Park and the city skyline. All rooms include a 42” plasma TV, DVD, VCD and CD player, Wi-Fi and high speed internet access, separate sofa seating, individually controlled air conditioning, international direct dual telephone lines, a hair dryer and an in-room safe. A complimentary daily newspaper and complimentary coffee/tea making facilities and bottled water war replenished daily. Completing the room is a glass bathroom with a revitalizing rain shower.
Services and facilities include four restaurants and two bar
