review的详细讲解：
review the lesson指“温课”，是美式英语，在英式英语中相当于revise the lesson或者go over the lesson；
review可指“评审”。
The author has sent the book to the editor for review.作者已经把书交给编辑审核了。
review可指“评论”，如the book under review（在本文中评述的这本书）；
book review指“书评”，也可以指刊物中的“书评栏目”，也可以指“书评杂志”。
review的基本意思是“回顾,检查,检讨,重新考虑”,指对已经发生过的事情进行总结,以便从中吸取经验或加深印象,也可指对书籍、剧本等的内容作简略介绍,指出其优劣,而后附加评论者的批评或个人意见,即“评论”,引申也可用于指带有评论性的“刊物”。review还可指“检阅”。
be〔come〕 under review意为“受到评论,在审查中”,本身含有被动意义。
review的基本意思是思考当天或以前发生的事件或成就,即“回顾”。还可指“复习”“写…的文章”“检阅”等。
review一般用作及物动词,可接名词、代词或由疑问词引导的从句作宾语。可用于被动结构。
review有时也可用作不及物动词,常与介词for连用。
review, criticism
这两个词的共同意思是“评论”。其区别是：
review指对内容作简略介绍,指出其优劣,而后附加评论者的批评或个人意见; criticism特指根据深入研究及统一标准对书籍、音乐、电影等所写的评论性文章。例如:
I read a good criticism of South Pacific.我读了一篇有关南太平洋的好文章。

:magazine指刊登各种文章、小说、诗歌、评论的杂志。

:publication指出版物，发行物。
:newspaper一般指每日出版的报纸。
:review多指登载评论性文章或讨论重大事件的文章的刊物。
:press系报刊总称，也指报界或报业。
☆ 1441年进入英语，直接源自古法语的reveue；最初源自拉丁语的revidere：re (重新) + videre (看），意为重新看或读。
