美国大学理工科常用教材：物理
物理专业相关教材
&&& 下面说物理，依我之见，物理也应该算全民必修课了。
　　流行的是：Physics for Scientists and Engineers (with Physics NOW and InfoTrac)，作者是serway。
　　这本书也是年代久远，应用广泛，版本繁多，多的眼花缭乱。就简单说说吧。最流行的版本是6版，分上下两册(当然还分一册的，超级厚，还分成四册的，莫名其妙。那个 physicsNow and infotrac是随书附赠的网络学习账号。我觉得没什么用)，包含了力学，波，热学(这是上册)，下册有电磁，光学，现代物理。价格也不菲，$159
　　以微积分为背景，既然名字是physics for scientists and engineers，就说明他把自己定位成了理工科专业的课本。从理论上讲，要学习整四个学期--两个学年来完成全部课程。
　　力学部分很简单，对中国人来说就像高中三年物理知识+微积分，该有的也都有了，然后是关于震动，波，的内容。热学很薄弱，只有几章的内容。下册一开始电磁学，从高斯定律开始，到法拉第定律***(完了，我都不会用中文翻译了)一直到麦克斯为电磁方程，不过我的感觉是应该有的都有了，我只有一套高等教育出版社的大学物理专业用教材：电磁学上下册作为参考，编排内容相似，顺序也类似，不过少了1，2章内容，没有高教的小字号编排的选读内容。
&&& 不同之处是这本书没有发挥“知其然知其所以然"的科学精神，没有给出公式的来源，很多推导都没有。我很不满意，所以我很讨厌这本书。另外，本人曾经抱着转到物理专业的梦想抱着极大的热情学习物理，但是上面说了，这套书有些内容很薄弱，简直就是一带而过，像热学，只有三章内容，连一百页都不到。
&&& 还有光学，也只有四章：折射反射，几何光学，干涉，衍射，完了。我深深地感觉到，我转到物理专业的梦想就被serway毁掉了。另外，他的内容也不好，我经常是怎么读也不明白，随便换任何一本其他的物理书就能恍然大悟，明白了之后再回头读课本还是不知所云，可见写的多么不好。唯一的优点是例题编排得当，都是经典得不能再经典的典型例题。让人做作业做得很开心。上面说了，这书很流行，很容易下载到。

　　2、The lessons we take from failure can be fundamental to later success.
Recount an incident or time when you experienced failure. How did it affect you,

　　85%的机构成员和82%的普通受访者认为这些题目可以开放一些。
　　3%的机构成员建议把自选话题作为新增题目。
　　6%的普通受访者建议把自选话题作为新增题目，这些受访者构成：47%为独立教育咨询人员，7%为社区组织，5%为学校辅导员，2%为父母，其他人员占2%，学生比重低于1%。
