穆罕默德·夏拉贝(Mahmud Shalaby)1986年出生于以色列北部的古城阿克里，本身是阿拉伯人，自小即对以色列境内的种族冲突多所关注。他在青少年时期与好友合组乐团‘MWR’，靠着Rap曲风唱出阿拉伯社区的诸多社会问题，犀利的观点广受舆论与青少年歌迷爱戴。
在《海上的天使》，他饰演的托菲克，正是这样一个角色，宛若以色列版的“罗密欧”，为能打破种族藩篱、与女友相爱而努力，他以压抑内敛的演技，诠释少男面对爱情的破裂与社会压力的愤。[4]
