Police say he turned himself in to internal affairs and was arrested without incident.
As Cleveland Police Officer David Anderson came to court Thursday he was cordial telling 19 Action News he had no comment. But prosecutors say that he was anything but cordial to his girlfriend, shoving her to the ground knocking her out twice, and shoving her down the steps cutting her head.Officer Anderson, 51, plead not guilty to a number of charges. He was arrested and charged last month for one count of felony stalking and three counts of misdemeanor domestic violence.&The girlfriend's 911 call seems to back prosecutors up. Anderson is heard yelling and pulling the phone from her hand while she repeatedly yelled leave me alone.&Prosecutors wanted his bond raised from $10,000 to $100,000, they stressed the fact that the violence that happened was on three straight days in December.&After his appearance in Municipal Court they claim he ignored an order not to contact his girlfriend. Prosecutor Chris Schroeder gave details of the contact "both by phone and in person, those factors all taken together with Mr. Anderson's prior history of domestic violence."&Judge Daniel Gaul raised Anderson's bond from $10,000 to $25,000 after hearing about his three accidents and 16 traffic tickets."He does have other issues that appear on his rap sheet that concern the court as to his stability, his judgement," said&Judge Gaul. &The judge minced no words in warning Anderson. "I can assure you if you violate this no contact order you will be remanded to the Cuyahoga County jail whether you're a Cleveland Police Officer or not," he added.According to the affidavit, Anderson also had his service firearm and shotgun near him while he beat up his girlfriend. .Anderson has been with the department for seven years. He remains off the job without pay.Copyright 2015&. All rights reserved.
