应该是省略了who was where加从句，woman 后面也是一个从句，如上说，省省略了who was The hunt是主语，began是谓语，过去时的形式，in a small village是地点状语，这会还不是状语从句呢啊。后面where引导才是一个地点状语从句。picking blackberries 只是一个定语，不能称为从句。能称上从句的必须是又主谓宾或者引导词来补充主谓宾中缺少的成分。希望回答正确。:P 主句的主语是the hunt,谓语是began，for the puma 作定语修饰the hunt，in a small village 作状语修饰began,where是关系副词，引导的是一个定语从句，修饰village.picking blackberries 是现在分词作定语，修饰a woman,saw是从句谓语，其余部分是从句宾语，其中a large cat宾语中心语，only five yards away from her是介词短语作定语，修饰a large cat.希望对楼主有所帮助。 The （hunt） for the puma （began） in a small village where a （woman） picking blackberries （saw） a large （cat） only five yards away from her.

一个听力原文中出现的长难句，不知道句子成分是什么，更不用说怎么翻译它了。请大家帮忙分析一下，谢谢！

of a fire， of staff members ，of unsanitary conditions 应该是news reports的内容吧？如果是，eight residents...是什么成分？
而of staff members spotted...感觉也有问题？是不是应该用spotting表示观察、发现two deer？句中，用过去分词形式表示被动，显然这个被动修饰staff members，但这样语义就有点不通顺了？
最后的surfaced又是修饰什么的？
整句话该如何翻译呢？
&eight residents ...to the hospital&&&应是补充说明的句子，相当于
----eight residents were treated for smoke inhalation and two were sent to the hospital----。
&spotted” 的前面应该是省略了 &that&，因为此处与前面的 &that broke out ”结构是类似的，故省略。
&surfaced& 的问题类似，其前面也省略了&that&。

我觉得楼主真心没必要纠结语法把自己绕进去
按叙事逻辑把句子一断意思就明朗了嘛
说了三件事，就是这三个部分，着火那个分句的逗号后面是补充说明
spotted个人感觉如果换成spotting就变成报道的是“目击”了，但事实上报道的重点是被目击的鹿，而且前面说fire的时候用的broke，这里也应该是spotted吧
最后的surface是动词，用中国人爱说的话就是浮出水面。
