In tough times, job-seekers are often advised to be flexible about issues from commute length to salary to job title. But while it's true that you have to be realistic, some compromises may end up hurting you more than they help. 经济危机时期，求职者通常都会被建议从上班时间，到薪资，到工作职位等方面要懂得灵活变通。虽然说你是要现实起来，但是有时候妥协带给你的伤害远比帮助要大。

Steve Levin, CEO of Leading Change Consulting & Coaching in Portola Valley, Calif., draws a distinction between what he calls "healthy

2）Will the job make you miserable? Taking a job that's not right for you increases the risk that you'll be laid off again within a few months -- something that can make it even harder to find the next job. "I really believe that a lot of people panic and get anxious about short-term needs and forget all about their long-term goals," Levin said. 只是不是很适合，不是说那不好要想让孩子的英语听力有所提高，我反而觉得乐知会更适合你家孩子，你可以在网上搜索有关乐知的资料看一眼的，在给孩子选择补习班的时候。我不建议你给孩子选择托福，就要选择小班制的，这样孩子才能更好的练习听力

第一， 选择听力材料要符合个人实际水平。太难或太容易都不好。(你可以听懂百分之六十以上的材料，我选择的是西安外语学院的英语新闻听力，上海海文出版社的标准美语听力，北京外语学院的中级听力和高级听力。另外还从网上下载了BBC/VOA等时事新闻节目。)
第二，反复听十遍还听不清楚，就要查对原文，以便搞清问题出在那里。有针对性地学习。(材料最好要有标准文字说明，以便对照,免得胡乱猜测，起步阶段一定要结合教材和文字说明学习。不要机械地模仿钟教授，如果你感觉仍然太难，就需要重新选择听力材料，减少难度，增加自信心。这个阶段会遇到许多困难，随时可能失去信心。)
第三，练习完整地听懂一句话之后再默写。
第四，大声跟读。可以边看着记录稿，边跟播音员朗读。并把自己的声音录下来，纠正语音。（很多人在这点上犯错误，太懒。或者羞于开口）
第五，练习精听的同时，加大泛听练习。选择完全新的材料，只听一到三遍，掌握大意即可。同时养成每天坚持听英语广播的习惯。（泛听材料是海文出版社的标准美语入门，VOA的慢速英语；北京人民大学的英语绿地，美国ABC电视新闻，以及各种有兴趣的听力材料。我对于泛听比较重视。先选一些比较容易的材料，练习一遍全部听懂的能力；再坚持听比较难的广播电视新闻。）
第六，逐渐培养一遍听懂的能力。只在特别难的地方才用听写法。（这是逐渐培养出来的，没有说是一开始就用这个办法）
第七，加强阅读练习。选择有一定难度的阅读材料，练习快速阅读。遇到生词查英英词典。特别注意阅读网上最新的英语背景新闻，以便听的时候减少难度。
第八，练习写作。可以把听过的内容用自己的话写出梗概。另外多练习用英语生词造句。（可用口头复述练习）
第九，练习汉翻英。最好找一些有标准译文的材料，先自己翻译，再对照范文学习。特别注意把握英语与中文之间的微妙关系。（新概念就是很好的练习资料）
第十，每天保持相当量的练习。只有练到一定的数量，才能在大脑中构造一个英语区。以后再说英语时就不会出现英汉互相干扰的问题了。
精听的好方法是逆向法。
我的具体做法是，先完整地把一条新闻听一到三遍，争取掌握大意。然后，一句一句精听，力争每句话都听明白。遇到实在不懂的地方，再听写。根据我的实际水平，我选择了专业英语大三和大四的新闻听力教材作为起步阶段的听力材料。此外，每个月安排几天时间，完整地把几十条标准英语新闻听写好。遇到难点，及时核对原文，搞清楚问题出在何处。
泛听是逆向法比较忽视的方法。其实，泛听不比精听次要。我在泛听过程中经历了几个阶段。先是把它当作音乐听。主要为了熟悉语音，语调和语气等。这个阶段可能听不懂内容，但是不要紧，它有助于提高英语听觉的敏感性。有时睡觉时都戴着耳机，做梦时耳边还有英语的声音。在这个阶段，千万别急于搞清楚磁带里说的什么，只是听声音。如果老想听清内容，就会有深深的挫折感，甚至怀疑自己头脑很苯，不适于学英语。而有了这种意念，就会真地使一个健康的人变成英语的弱智者。附带说一句，根据观察，许多音乐感觉好的人学习英语听力和口语比较容易。人的大脑中，负责音乐和语言的脑区有一致性。我在大学时，学校交响乐团的几个小提琴手都会说不错的英语。
接下来，就要认真练习在泛听中掌握大意。这个过程比较难。建议在选择泛听材料时，先选容易的开始。比如多听慢速英语广播，最好是实时练习听VOA的SPECIAL ENGLISH节目，包括听其中的专题报道和小说播讲。第一遍听大意，第二和第三遍听细节。由此过度到听大学专业英语的中级听力磁带。我认为，上海海文出版社的标准英语听力入门是很好的泛听材料。其程度介于慢速英语和标准英语之间。而且信息量大。练习听力千万不可小看慢速英语。学习者如果达到一遍完全听懂VOA慢速英语的各种广播节目，就可以说基本掌握了英语（作为一种外语）。建议学友们在苦读新概念英语的时候，也给予慢速英语一定的位置。实际上，只靠一套教材（如新概念英语），是无法学会英语听力的。
再下来，就要练习泛听标准英语了。这是最难也是最有趣的练习。我的方法是步步跟踪语音，不在生词上纠缠，快速把握大意。第一遍听懂一半；后两遍听懂百分之七十以上。达不到这个水平，则说明材料过深了，可以暂时放一放。顺便说一下，许多泛听材料也可以作为精听材料，有时间时用听写法一句句扣懂它。
