SpringtimeOf all the four seasons, spring is the most beautiful. Almost all people like spring.Spring is green. And green is the symbol of health. People feel happy in spring time and that is why so many people enjoy themselve in spring.Spring is fresh. After a long winter, spring comes gentlely with fresh air. I like go out for trips in spring because during the travel I will feel comfortable and relaxed. Spring is beautiful. People like call it ‘spring girl’. With the coming of spring, flowers bloom and leaves turn green. All the world is full of nice smells.Spring is the first season in the year. Chinese people treat it as the most important one and they think a good spring means a good start of the full year.I like spring.2、Good MannersPoliteness is an important element in modern society. People like polite friends, polite colleagues and polite partners.As students, we should behave in good manners. That means we should help others and do something good for those who need cares. When you take a bus, you find an old lady standing without a seat. You stand up and tell her to take your seat. This is a behavior with good manners.But still, there are some people dont think it is important to behave in good manners. They do what they want and dont care feelings of others. They may make noise in public or talk with each other loudly in a cinema. I think they need more education and should learn how to get along with others.I want to be a polite student thus I will do things in good manners.3、PopularityPupularity is one of the most surpring social phenomenas during the past twenty years. People used to focus on family life but now, more and more people, especially the youngsters learn to set up an idol to worship. Popularity mainly involves music, movies, fashion and hair styles. Fanatics mimic their stars in dress, preference in commodities and even taste of food. It looks like that they lost themselves and only be alive for their idols. How stupid they are.Pupularity itself is not so unacceptable. It tells us how to live a better life and how to enjoy yourself. But the problem is, if you are interested in popularity, you must be smart enough to know how to choose. It’s wise to enjoy good music and movies in your spare time. They are wonderful hobbies.
Of course, I have my own hobbies. I like pop music but I still live a regular life. I enjoy pop music only in weekend.4、Learning
speakingEnglish is the most widely used language around the world. It’s official language of many countries and international organizations. It’s important for us to learn Englsih well. But the problem is how?Some people do a lot of readings. They read as many books as they can get. Some people listen to English regularly while some others write everything in English. All the above are good habits for English learning. But there is another way available—speaking.Practice makes perfect. If ones speak English every day, just like a native speaker, undoubtedly, he will increase his feeling and command of English. As we all know, language is practical and not so strict in use, if we improve our fluency of English, the following steps will be easier.Speaking needs confidence, swift reactions and good command of English basic rules. I want to improve my English by speaking more because I like communicating with others than just listening, writing or reading alone.5、Is
Bad Thing?No one likes failure because failure makes things worse and makes people depressed. Failure is usually be treated as a disater. Although it is inevitable, people always want to avoid it.But as we know, every coin has tow sides. Are you sure that failure is compeletely useless to us? A proverb says, ‘Failure is the mother of success!’. Sounds great! But you may ask why. It is because you may learn a lot from the failure. You can find out the elements leading to the failure and then know how to avoid such things next time. And when you can avoid all these elements, failure becomes success.Failure also makes you more experienced and stronger which does matter in the path to success. General speaking, one cant achieve too much success before he suffers from failure. If you can treat and deal with failure correctly, it will be your parter in the way to success.Brave as we are, we can accept failures and have confidence on the coming success.6、NewspaperNowdays, we live in a society which is full of news and information. We watch TV, we access internet and we read journals as well as listen to broadcastings. There are so many choices for us to get information.However, newspaper has its own features. First, it’s cheap, even a student can afford a newspaper. Second, it provides different kinds of information including politics, sports, economics and fashions which result in a great range of readers. Third, it is always updated and you can get the latest news and information form an intraday newspaper. Last but not least, the length of articles in newspaper is reasonablely short and it will take not too much time for readers to enjoy the reading.I like reading newspaper and most of my information sources from newspaper. Even I have only 10 minutes, I can finish two articles I am interested in.7、Generation
GapGeneration gap means the different opinions, thinking and life styles between different groups based on the difference of their ages. In another word, it is the diversity between two generations.The old generation and the young generation have their own opinions respectively and this is due to the fact that they have different life experience. The old people think everyone should live a peaceful and stable life while young people insist on their exciting and luxurious life. Generation gap is the a form of disharmony. People tend to avoid disharmony for it causes disputes and quarrelings. But generally, in a typical family, there are two or three generations. Maybe everyone wants to persuade others to accept his suggestion. Generation is a fact, is existence. We couldnt miss it out because without a proper solution, it may change into terrible situation.People with different ages should understand each other. Accept the life style of others and do not make negative comments, you will find things are changing better and better.8、Women:Yesterday ,Today
TomorrowWomen used to live a wretched life in China. From Song Dynasty, men were treated as the first priority in family life and women were even behind babies. What they could do were baby-sitting, cooking, housework and giving births. They selom went out of their hometown and knew little about the world. Furthermore, they hardly received any education. Almost none of them worked outside.Nowdays, women play an more and more important role in society. Most of them are well educated and master some specific skills. They work in different positions and some women even become leaders of companies. They are making contributions to the world. But women havent been completely equal to men now. In some areas, especially the remote areas, adults like boys much more than girls.But this situation will be changed in the future. With the development of nationally-wide education, everyone should make it clear that boys and girls are the same indeed. And the women, will obviously obtain the right of being equal to men.9、Smoking
CancerSmoking is a big social problem in many countries. There are a lot of people who smoke in the world. And some of them are heavy smokers. In fact, smoking is of none of benefit at all and almost everyone knows this. To people’s surprise, why these smokers cant give up smoking? It’s a waste of money, and furthermore, it’s a waster of your health.Smokers have a pretty higher probability to catch cancers than those who dont smoke. Studies reveal that smoking leads to a lot of fatal diseases, including several kinds of cancer. Lung cancer is the most popular disease led by smoking. Some people may regret when they know they catch the lung cancer but they could have prevented this happen only by giving up smoking earlier.Maybe most smokers are addicted to nicotine, but think about your health please, think about your life please, are you willing to surrender to your addiction which could be eliminated by your efforts. Cancer is not horrible any long as soon as you establish a healthy life style.

On Uncivilized Behaviors
We cannot fail to notice that countless uncivilized behaviors exist in our dai础粻摆饺肢祭扮熄堡陇ly lives, such as spitting, talking loudly, littering, saying nasty words in public places and so forth. All these are bad manners that we should not lose sight of.
As an ancient land enjoying a splendid civilization spanning over 5,000 years, China is witnessing a surge in improper acts that every Chinese citizen should feel ashamed of.
Uncivilized behaviors by a host of Chinese both at home and abroad have seriously affected China’s image, according to an editorial posted on People Daily’s official website.
As Chinese, we should not get offended when others point out our weaknesses but should focus more attention on improving ourselves. We should strive to identify the causes of those improper behaviors and find ways to eliminate them. There are a host of causes, I would argue, behind this trend.
To name only one: the lack of moral education. The government should wage a massive moral campaign to fight against this trend and we ourselves should endeavor to behave decently in our daily lives.
